61 Chapter 61 A Brutal Silent War
Blanche’s POV 1
I just shook my head. “No,” I replied, my voice icy. My mood was absolutely foul.
Vincent knew exactly why I was pissed–Zain and Joanna were sitting way too close for comfort. He leaned in, dropping his voice to a whisper. “So, babe, do you like being on top or bottom?”
I shot upright, heat flooding my cheeks as I glared at him. “You-”
Vincent straightened too, that damn smirk playing on his lips. Then his expression shifted, turning serious. “See? You’re overthinking
everything.”
I exhaled quietly, trying to calm down. But before I could get comfortable, Vincent leaned in again, his lips practically grazing my cheek. With that same teasing tone, he whispered, “So, do you prefer being on top, or are you more of a bottom girl?”
“Vincent,” I pointed at him, my finger shaking with rage.
Vincent chuckled, catching my finger and pressing it flat against his chest. His eyes locked onto mine, intense and unwavering. “You
can’t judge a guy just by looking at him. You’ve got to feel him out.”
“A man’s value isn’t about looks–it’s about what he makes you feel. Don’t you think so, babe?” He pressed closer, his body nearly
touching mine, watching every emotion flicker across my face.
My face was on fire, the heat spreading down my neck. I refused to meet his gaze, pretending to focus on the host onstage. Honestly, I
couldn’t process a single word the guy was saying.
Zain’s POV
I reclined in my seat, half–listening to the host’s spiel, occasionally murmuring something to Joanna that made people around us whisper
and stare.
But while chatting with Joanna, my gaze drifted over to Blanche and Vincent. Vincent was practically molded to her side, and her flushed
face combined with the way Vincent held her hand against his chest made one thing crystal clear–they looked like lovers.
I figured they were. An odd knot of irritation twisted in my gut, but before I could analyze it, the host introduced the next item–a
gorgeous emerald bracelet. ‘
Joanna’s eyes sparkled. “Zain, that bracelet is stunning.”
I snapped back to reality, glancing at the piece onstage. I had zero interest in admiring jewelry–I just felt aggravated.
“Zain?” Joanna elbowed me when I didn’t respond.
I forced my attention back, managing a smile. “Yeah?”
Joanna nudged me, nodding toward the stage. “Don’t you think that bracelet is gorgeous?”

I replied, “Yeah, it’s beautiful.” The bracelet was undeniably exquisite–flawlessly crafted, gleaming like it cost a small fortune.
Blanche’s POV
I noticed the bracelet too, keeping my expression neutral and detached until it came into view. The second I saw it, my eyes lit up.
Vincent caught every micro–expression on my face and instantly knew I wanted that bracelet.
When the host announced the opening bid, Vincent shot his paddle up immediately. “Ten million.” The starting price was five million, and
Vincent had doubled it without blinking.
His bid made everyone else freeze, too intimidated to compete.
I whipped around to him, trying to stop this madness. “Vincent, I don’t need expensive jewelry like that. Put the paddle down.”
As I reached for it, Vincent held it high above my head, completely out of reach.
To everyone watching, we looked like a playful couple being cute together.
Of course, Zain and Joanna both noticed our little display.
Vincent saw them staring, so he leaned close to my ear and whispered, “They’re watching you.”
I knew exactly who he meant, and my body went rigid. I stopped trying to grab his paddle.
Just as I straightened up, the auctioneer was already counting down, ready to close the bidding.
At the same time, I caught Joanna leaning over to whisper something to Zain. They weren’t far away, but the room was loud enough that
I couldn’t make out her words.
But just as the auctioneer was about to bring down the hammer, Zain suddenly raised his paddle. “Fifteen million.”
The room exploded with excitement.
“Holy shit, they’re jumping by five million each time,” someone gasped.
“That bracelet’s worth maybe five or six million tops. This is just showing off,” another person muttered.
“What do you know? They’re trying to impress the women they’re with. What’s wrong with spending some cash?” someone shot back.
“Seriously, it’s not like Zain or Vincent are hurting for money,” another agreed.
“This is absolutely insane!” someone else marveled.
The auctioneer’s eyes lit up at the bid and quickly continued the round.
Just as the countdown was ending, Vincent thrust his paddle high. “Twenty million.”
Zain didn’t hesitate. “Twenty–five million.”
Vincent raised his again. “Thirty million.”

Zain fired back, “Thirty–five million.”
The two were locked in a brutal, silent war.
As the numbers climbed, I started panicking. I grabbed Vincent’s arm, giving him my most pleading look. “Vincent, please stop.”
Vincent glanced at me, smiled, and patted my arm gently. “If you want it, it’s worth every penny.”
With that, he raised his paddle again.
The room went dead silent as Vincent and Zain continued their battle.
I could hear my heart hammering, terrified that Vincent was about to blow a fortune on this bracelet–whether to show up Zain or
because he saw how much I loved it. Either way, it wasn’t worth this chaos.
Eventually, a bracelet worth maybe five million got bid up to one hundred million.
Zain kept pushing higher, but Vincent was getting visibly frustrated.
I hoped he’d give up. Spending this much on something so unnecessary was ridiculous. Vincent was a businessman. He knew when to
cut his losses.
I understood Zain was bidding to make Joanna happy, to get her whatever she wanted, cost be damned.
If Joanna wanted it, I figured Zain would move heaven and earth to make it happen. Even if it hit a billion, Zain would probably keep
smiling and bidding.
When Zain pushed it to one hundred and five million, Vincent finally surrendered and lowered his paddle.
I exhaled in relief. But then Vincent suddenly stood up without a word and walked straight toward the stage.
