Leilani looked at his slightly hasty retreating back and couldn't help but smile.
She straightened her clothes, walked to the bathroom door, and knocked gently.
"Need any help?"
Callahan was currently burning with desire.
Being forced to hit the brakes was already agonizing enough; for Leilani to say something like this to tease him, wasn't that adding fuel to the fire?
Sure enough, after Leilani said this, it was quiet in the bathroom for a moment.
Then came Callahan's voice through gritted teeth from inside.
"Leilani!"
"If you keep teasing me like this, you'll have to bear the consequences yourself!"
Callahan's threat was blatant.
Leilani chuckled softly, feeling a bit sheepish, afraid that Callahan would actually open the bathroom door and walk right out.
"I'm just joking."
"Go ahead and wash up, I won't tease you anymore."
...
Half an hour later, Callahan walked out of the bathroom carrying a cool, damp chill.
Leilani was sitting on the sofa watching a movie. Seeing him come out, she patted the spot next to her. "Come here."
Callahan sat down beside her, naturally pulling her into his arms. "What are you watching?"
Leilani leaned against his shoulder. "Just picked something at random."
She looked up at him. "Took a cold shower?"
Callahan pinched her cheek. "You know the answer to that."
Leilani giggled. "Well, you brought that on yourself."
Callahan raised an eyebrow. "You're that heartless?"
"You don't know how to feel sorry for me at all."
Clive had been to Zeus's hospital a few times before and was relatively familiar with the department Zeus worked in.
By the time he finally made it to the door of Zeus's clinic, a fine layer of cold sweat had formed on Clive's forehead, and his lips were slightly pale from the pain.
He held onto the doorframe with one hand, breathing heavily, while his other hand pressed tightly against his lower abdomen.
His symptoms were clearly much worse than before. Even such a short walk had drained all the strength from his body.
With every step Clive took, his lower region felt like it was on fire, making it difficult even to stand up straight.
Taking a deep breath, Clive pushed the door open forcefully, yelling inside with a hoarse voice.
"Zeus!"
When Clive pushed the door open, Zeus still had another patient inside.
The sudden commotion startled both the patient and the nurse in the consultation room.
The startled patient frowned and looked toward the door.
Being interrupted right in the middle of a proper medical consultation left the patient somewhat displeased.
