One look at Clive's symptoms and it was obvious his private life was a mess.
With the inflammation already this apparent, he'd better just pray it was only normal congestion and swelling.
Clive's face instantly went deathly pale.
A disease he shouldn't have caught?
Could it be...
Clive suddenly stood up. "Impossible! Zeus, don't talk nonsense!"
"I've always been very careful when it comes to this kind of thing!"
Zeus scoffed, shooting Clive a look of pity. He didn't say anything more, merely pointing to the test forms. "Go pay the fees."
But Clive was still immersed in the panic caused by that sentence just now.
He grabbed Zeus's white coat. "Zeus! You were just joking with me about those things, right!"
"This should just be a normal infection..."
"It shouldn't be some... that kind of disease, right?"
"I'm really careful!"
"Zeus, tell me the truth. Is my condition really serious?"
"What if I really have AIDS? Will I die?"
By the end, Clive seemed completely absorbed in his own conjectures, treating Zeus like thin air.
Zeus's fingers paused on the keyboard, his brow furrowing imperceptibly.
Listening to Clive blabbering and asking questions non-stop in his ear,
Zeus only felt annoyed, his heart completely undisturbed.
After all, Clive ending up like this today was entirely his own fault.
And now he knows fear?
Why didn't he think of the consequences when he was doing it?
If it wasn't for the fact that he was his brother, he wouldn't even want to get involved in this mess.
He only cared about his own pleasure back then.
Now he's spouting all this hindsight nonsense.
It's too late!
Zeus's attitude seemed to confirm that his condition wasn't very good.
Clive grabbed onto Zeus like a lifeline. "Zeus, aren't you a star doctor at this hospital? Can you put in a word with the lab department for me and expedite it?"
"Three days is really too long."
"I haven't been able to eat or drink this week. If it takes another three days, I'm afraid I won't survive."
Zeus was entirely unmoved. "Whether I'm a star doctor or a regular doctor, the hospital has its procedures."
"Even if I were a divine immortal, I couldn't get the test results out for you the same day."
"If you really can't wait, go to another hospital. Don't waste my time here."
Clive was speechless.
This brother of his was just too stubborn!
Others could get things expedited, why couldn't he!
Clive had a belly full of grievances he wanted to complain about.
But Zeus didn't even lift his head, ignoring Clive altogether.
"I've already told you everything I needed to."
"Stop wasting my time here."
