The Prison-Made Queen novel Chapter 776

"You're right. Let's stop talking and get back to our desks..."

"I just wonder what's going to happen to us now that he's in charge..."

The massive corporation had changed hands so abruptly that these few employees weren't the only ones spiraling.

Low whispers hovered over the cubicles as everyone debated whether the veteran staff would be collateral damage in this new regime.

Blank stares and heavy anxiety were plastered across everyone's faces.

It had all happened way too fast. Most of them were just regular people trying to pay their bills.

The billionaires could fight their turf wars all they wanted, as long as it didn't crush the little guys at the bottom.

Fitch, of course, was well aware of the fractured morale.

"Have all department heads report to my office at two o'clock sharp." Standing in the center of what used to be Hackett's sanctuary, his back to the door, Fitch calmly issued orders over the phone, summoning the executives.

It was time to lay down the law and map out the company's immediate future under his rule.

He hung up and turned around, his eyes sweeping over the newly stripped office.

A flicker of satisfaction crossed his face as he waved a hand at the remaining staff members.

"Pick up the pace. I want anything irrelevant out of this space immediately. By the day after tomorrow, I don't want to see a single thing that ever belonged to Hackett."

"Yes, Mr. Sherwood," the employees murmured, quickening their pace.

Just then, his newly appointed assistant knocked and entered, handing over a sleek dossier.

"Mr. Sherwood, here is the preliminary list of departments slated for potential restructuring. Please review."
