The Prison-Made Queen novel Chapter 826

Clive couldn't understand why Zeus was reacting so aggressively.

He had no idea that Zeus had developed these drugs himself. They had never undergone any formal clinical trials—Clive was literally the first human to ever ingest them.

In short, he was Zeus's lab rat. The experiment wasn't finished yet, so if Clive went to the hospital and the doctors found out, everything would be ruined.

That was absolutely unacceptable.

Zeus was counting on these drugs to cure Clive, so he could use the clinical data to publish a groundbreaking paper. If these pills actually cured HIV, he would be a shoo-in for a Nobel Prize. Then Leilani and that so-called "Miracle Doctor" would be nothing but dust under his boots.

So, there was no way in hell he was going to let Clive jeopardize his master plan.

Plus, these drugs were the culmination of all his recent research. Clive's doubts felt like a direct insult to his genius.

"We both know exactly how this game is played, so stop trying to bullshit me."

"Do you think I'm too stupid to know what you're implying?"

They had grown up together. Zeus knew exactly how his brother's mind worked.

Clive was doing this on purpose. Just weeks ago, he had been sobbing and begging for help. Now he was already flipping the script.

Just because the medication was working and keeping the virus at bay, his old arrogant habits were coming back, and he was starting to get picky.

Zeus let out a cold, sharp laugh, glaring down at him. "Do you think these meds are just handed out to anyone?"

"Do you have any idea how much blood, sweat, and tears went into getting these for you? How many strings I had to pull?"

"When you say things like that, do you even consider how I feel?"

Zeus grew increasingly agitated, his eyes turning bloodshot.
