"I imagine the glamorous, highly respected Winifred Lawson wouldn't look too good in the tabloids!"
"After all, compared to a washed-up, scandal-ridden pop star like me, a powerful CEO like you makes for a much juicier headline. Don't you think?"
He fired off his ultimate weapon in one breath, his chest heaving with exertion. He didn't blink, waiting for her to panic or fly into a rage.

Far from being flustered, she looked thoroughly entertained, watching his frantic performance as if he were a court jester. She leisurely strolled over to the liquor cabinet, poured a small splash of rich red wine into a crystal glass, and gently swirled it, watching the liquid coat the sides.

"Oh? Are you finished?"
"You barged in here and made all this noise just to show off this pathetic little trick?"
She stopped right in front of him, close enough that the intoxicating scent of her designer perfume enveloped him. Leaning in slightly, she lowered her voice. Every word was articulate and laced with ice, stabbing directly into his eardrums.
"You go right ahead and try, Clive."
"Leak it all. Throw your little tantrum. Let's see what happens faster—your dirty laundry hitting the press, or me making you permanently disappear from this industry. Hell, from this entire city."
