Chapter 254 Gorgeous Debut at the Banquet
Hallie walked in and explained the plan for the day.

They were attending the hundred-day banquet for the great-grandson of the Blake family’s patriarch, Gregory Blake.
The Blake family could not compare to their families in status, but they belonged to the same social circle.
Gregory had an outstanding political track record in his prime. Though he had retired, his influence was still considerable. He was old friends with Floyd and Chet, so their families were obligated to attend the banquet.
Gregory valued this great-grandson greatly, so all the prestigious people in the circle would be
present.
Zora and Hallie had to show up as well.
“Okay.”
After finishing her morning routine, Zora changed into casual clothes and headed upstairs to the dressing room.
“Where’s Leighton? Isn’t he coming?” Zora glanced around but saw no sign of Leighton, sounding confused.
“He has company work to handle. He went to the office early and will head straight to the banquet at noon,” Hallie explained.
Leighton had left for the company first thing in the morning to deal with work matters.
“Working must be so tough. Being a corporate worker is exhausting,” Zora said sincerely.
They rose early and stayed up late, and they still ended up with poor health. No wonder they earned so much money. They deserved every penny of it.
“Don’t ever say that in front of Leighton,” Hallie quickly whispered in her ear, looking nervous.
She kicked herself. She had not watched her words carefully before, and she had no idea Zora would take everything so literally.
Seeing how flustered Hallie was, Zora grew a little nervous too and nodded.
“My sweet girls, you’re here! Come here. I ordered custom dresses for you two. Pick whichever you like.”
Elara was sitting there with a facial mask on while a stylist did her hair. She opened her eyes

The dressing room was lined with high-end custom gowns, and a professional makeup team stood by, ready to start work.
“Ms. Sloan, Zora.”
The makeup team greeted them the second they stepped inside.
Zora disliked being addressed with the surname Knox, so everyone always called her Zora
instead.
“How do I look? Pretty good, right?”
Hallie lifted the hem of her black long gown and twirled around, looking proud.
“It’s perfect. My daughter always looks stunning.”
Elara wore a pearl-white dress. Her features were gentle and elegant, and she smiled softly.
“I’m already looking forward to seeing Zora. With her by our side, we’re gonna be the most envied family at the banquet,” Hallie said, staring expectantly at Zora’s dressing area.
“We’re all done with Zora’s look.”
The makeup artist spoke in a soft tone.
The two women turned their heads and were instantly dazzled by the sight.
“Sweetie! How can you be this cute!”
Elara let out a shocked exclamation.
Zora wore a pale pink diamond starry tail gown. Her collarbone was exposed, paired with a delicate pearl necklace. Her long hair was half-up, fixed with a gem-studded butterfly hairpin. Pearl clip-on earrings dangled from her earlobes.
She had a slender waist, and the swaying gown perfectly outlined her graceful figure. Her calves were fair and smooth, with no extra fat at all.
She looked just like a tender flower blooming in early spring-gorgeous and delicate.
She finished the look with low-heel leather boots, exquisite and luxurious.
Such a stunning girl was born to wear gorgeous gowns and fine jewelry. They were the only things worthy of her beauty.

Once everyone was fully dressed and ready, the whole family headed for Blake Manor.
They arrived at just the right time. Plenty of luxury cars were already parked outside the manor, and a long red carpet stretched from the garden all the way out.
The car came to a stop.
“Sweetie, stay close to me or Hallie today. Don’t run off anywhere. Call us if you need anything,” Elara said gently as she got out of the car with the two girls.
The Knox family had never taken Zora to formal banquets before, so Elara worried she would feel uncomfortable.
She was also concerned that the Knoxes would show up and pester Zora again today.
“Okay,” Zora replied.
“Don’t worry, Mom. I’ll stay with Zora the whole time,” Hallie said, linking her arm through
Zora’s.
Zora could feel their genuine care for her. Her heart warmed up, and she smiled softly at them.
The banquet hall was bustling and lively. It was filled with high-ranking officials and wealthy socialites. Everyone wore luxurious custom gowns, holding champagne glasses and chatting cheerfully.
Zora and Hallie even spotted many classmates from Class 19.
“Elara, you’re here!”

As soon as the three of them walked in, many guests stopped their conversations, their eyes lighting up at the sight of Zora and the others.
Marie James, a close friend of Elara’s, walked over with a warm smile.
“Zora, this is Mrs. James,” Elara introduced.
“Hello, Mrs. James,” Zora greeted politely.
“Hi, Mrs. James,” Hallie chimed in too.
“Hello, you two. Where did you find such a gorgeous girl?” Marie smiled gently, her eyes full of amazement as she looked at Zora.
