Chapter 367 Strolling the Street With Him
Leighton’s deep voice held obvious amusement.
After hearing he’d watched her performance, Zora’s cheeks burned for no reason.
Still, a quiet, sweet joy bubbled up in her heart.
He saw her play after all.
It was Thanksgiving, and they still had plenty of time in the day.

“Do you wanna head straight home, or go somewhere to hang out?” Leighton asked as they got in the car.
“Are you busy? If you are, we can just go home.”
Zora wanted to wander outside. Every corner was decorated beautifully and packed with people for Thanksgiving. But she would go home if he had work to do.
“I’m free. We’ll hang out today.” Leighton shook his head.
He knew she would want to enjoy the festive atmosphere on Thanksgiving. He’d cleared his whole afternoon schedule just for her.
“Awesome! Hallie told me there’s a great cheese fondue restaurant on Vale Road.”
Zora nodded happily.
The driver drove them straight to Vale Road.

The whole street was crowded with people. Crowds filled every corner and sidewalk.
After they got out of the car, they saw bright string lights and holiday stickers everywhere. Storefronts glowed with lights.
The street was decorated extra nicely. Thin string lights stretched across the sky above the long road, looking like glowing silk threads hanging down.
Fake snow covered the ground, paired with snowman decorations wearing red scarves and candy gift boxes.
The whole street had a warm, festive vibe.
It was Zora’s first time spending Thanksgiving in the city. She looked around curiously at every new sight.
“Slow down, it’s crowded. We’ve got all the time in the world. Take it easy.”

Leighton wrapped his hand around her wrist and pulled her gently into his chest, stopping two running passersby from bumping into her.
Zora landed in his warm embrace, which carried a faint mint scent. His coat fabric was soft and comfortable against her skin.
She pressed her cheek to his chest, steady and strong heartbeat echoing clearly in her ears.
Caught off guard by the pull, Zora blinked up at him in confusion.
“Leighton…”
His palm felt warm against her skin, and he still held her wrist tight.
“It’s crowded over there. No need to rush. I cleared all my work today, so I can stay with whole time.”

Leighton let go of her wrist, rubbed the back of her head softly, and looked down at her gently.
Leighton had picked her up after school and wandered the streets with her a few times before.
But sudden work tasks always popped up. He would push them back, and Zora always saw the light on in his study late at night.
After seeing this many times, Zora got into the habit of rushing through their walks. She wanted to see everything fast, so she wouldn’t take up his working time.
“Mm,” Zora met his soft eyes and replied quietly.
“We’ll walk slowly. Look around, and we can buy anything you like.”
Leighton only fully let her go after she nodded.
This time, Zora didn’t hurry. She strolled slowly with Leighton right by her side.
“Wanna go inside and look around?”
Leighton noticed she’d stopped in front of a small accessory shop.
“Yeah.” Zora nodded quickly.
No girl could resist a shop full of pretty little accessories.
The store was packed. Zora glanced back at Leighton, worried he would hate the crowd.
She almost decided to leave and come back with Maya or Hallie some other day.

Before she could speak, Leighton broke the silence first.
“Let’s go in.”
He saw the tight crowd inside and grabbed her wrist firmly.
“It’s pretty crowded. Hold onto me tight, okay? I don’t want you getting lost.”
Leighton leaned down slightly, bringing his face close to hers.

Zora stared at their joined hands. She thought she was holding him, but he ended up holding her instead.
She felt confused but did not pull away. “Okay.”
The shop was really easy to get separated in.
They walked inside and stopped at the hair accessory section closest to the door.
The shelves were filled with all kinds of hair clips and bands, mostly Thanksgiving-themed styles.
“Which one do you like?”
Leighton stood closely beside her, blocking most of the crowd away from her.
He saw her eyes darting around, unable to pick just one.
“I like all of them.”
There were too many pretty options, and she could not choose.
“We’ll take all of them then,” Leighton said simply.
A young couple in the crowd almost laughed at his overbearing line.
But one glance at his long black coat and they fell quiet. They recognized his cufflinks-a pair worth millions.
