The Rejected Luna (Avery and Kaden) novel Chapter 39

**Chapter 8**

**Skyla’s POV**

**Time to Get Ready for the Shifting Night**

As I ambled back to my room, a spark of determination ignited within me. I was poised to demonstrate to that pitiful excuse for a mate just what he had overlooked. Yet, there lingered a nagging dilemma: my wardrobe was devoid of anything that screamed fierce she-wolf.

The moment I pushed open my door, a chorus of delighted squeals erupted around me.

It was Alexia—my dearest friend—and a trio of my closest companions, whom I typically only had the pleasure of seeing during my visits to my grandparents at the Silvermoon Pack. My heart swelled with joy as I exclaimed, “Alexia! Savannah! Veronica! Eliza! What on earth are you all doing in my room?”

The triplet sisters, daughters of Alpha Mason and Luna Kat, beamed at me with mischievous grins, their voices harmonizing, “We’re here to transform you into a bad bitch!”

A wave of exhilaration washed over me, and I couldn’t suppress the grin that spread across my face.

In the depths of my mind, I whispered, Watch yourself, Cassian. You won’t know what hit you.

My first order of business was to indulge in a blissful bubble bath in the luxurious ensuite jacuzzi tub. The warm water enveloped me, and I closed my eyes, allowing the soothing scent of lavender to calm my nerves.

Once I emerged, Alexia took charge, working her magic on my natural, curly ginger locks, transforming them into sleek waves that cascaded down my back. Savannah, ever the artist, took over to pamper my nails, while Eliza focused on giving my toes a fresh coat of polish. Meanwhile, Veronica was diligently applying my makeup—or as they affectionately called it, a “face beat.”

I was not accustomed to wearing makeup, and they playfully insisted I keep my eyes off the mirror until the grand reveal was complete.

At long last, when Veronica declared she was finished, they led me to my bed, still preventing me from peeking at my reflection. There, resting on the soft duvet, was a beautifully wrapped box, accompanied by a sparkling diamond bracelet and a single yellow rose—my absolute favorite flower, and undoubtedly a gift from my dad.
