The Rejected Luna (Avery and Kaden) novel Chapter 46

**Between Then and Now by Mark Twain**
**Chapter 15**

**Skyla’s POV**

The moment had finally arrived; all the guests had gathered, filling the grand hall with a palpable excitement.

Isadora, my mother-in-law, was practically glowing with joy. Her enthusiasm was infectious, and she couldn’t help but chatter away about her dreams of being a grandmother. “Just imagine, Skyla! Little ones running around, filling the house with laughter!” Her eyes sparkled with anticipation, and I couldn’t help but smile at her infectious enthusiasm.

I had yet to share the news with Julian, but I knew that Isadora’s wish would soon come true—sooner than she could ever have imagined. While Julian was preoccupied with a meeting that seemed to stretch on forever, I had taken a trip to visit the pack doctor. The revelation was nothing short of astonishing: we were expecting triplets! The thought sent a thrill through me, and I could hardly contain my excitement.

The coronation ceremony had just concluded, and now we were on the verge of the dinner and dance that would follow. Standing at the entrance of the ballroom, I felt a mix of anticipation and nerves. Julian and I exchanged a glance, a silent understanding passing between us as we waited for our names to be announced.

As the grand doors swung open, the voice of my father-in-law rang out, deep and resonant, “I now present to you, King Julian and Queen Skyla Wexler!” The immediate roar of applause and cheers from the crowd washed over us like a warm wave, filling my heart with pride.

He leaned in closer, planting soft kisses along my neck, sending shivers down my spine. “I hear multiple heartbeats, my love,” he whispered, his breath warm against my skin.

I turned to face him, straddling him with a smile that lit up my face. “Those heartbeats belong to your son and two daughters,” I replied, my heart swelling with joy at the thought.

That night was a tapestry woven with love and passion, a memory I would cherish forever. I loved my King deeply, and in return, he had shown me in countless ways that I was his most precious treasure. To Cassian, I was nothing more than a discarded piece of trash, but Julian had proven that I was worth so much more. I was his queen, and together, we were unstoppable.
