Their boss didn’t even show up.
What, did their boss kick the bucket or something?

“Boss, you have no idea. This afternoon, they challenged us to a PK match, saying we’d definitely lose, and even made a bet with us that whoever lost would voluntarily withdraw from the competition!”
Ernest couldn’t keep a secret to save his life, and after how satisfying it’d been to crush Cyclone that afternoon, he blurted everything out to Seven the moment he opened his mouth.
“And then Obscura showed up and wiped the floor with them! Hahaha, so now they’re just following through on their promise.”
The other three immediately covered Ernest’s mouth.
“Ernest, shh!”
Sure, beating the hell out of an opponent that had been mocking them nonstop felt amazing, but the club had strict rules in writing. Teams weren’t allowed to privately arrange PK matches.
Telling the boss about this was basically snitching on themselves.
furious, but the moment Ernest mentioned the name
When Seven heard they’d made a private bet and PKed, he was indeed “Obscura,” the gloom on his face instantly turned into bright excitement.
“What did you just say? Obscura’s here? She actually came?”
“Uh… yeah, she came this afternoon, and she even helped us beat
Isaiah answered cautiously, worried the boss might punish them.
But instead, Seven just excitedly slapped Isaiah on the shoulder.
“You idiots, Obscura showed up, and none of you thought to tell me?”
Seven cursed himself for staying at Grey Group headquarters all afternoon and not even thinking to stop by the club.
Damn it! If he’d just gone to the club for a quick look, he wouldn’t have missed seeing the legend!
It was killing him.
Seven clutched his chest in exaggerated agony.
“B–Boss, Obscura hasn’t left yrastin yet. You still have a chance to meet her.”
Seeing Seven’s dramatic reaction, Isaiah thought he was upset because Cassia had already left and wouldn’t help Blackwater win the championship, so he quickly reassured him, “Since she was willing to help us against Cyclone, she’ll probably be willing to joi us and help us take the title too.”
“Yeah, I think my mentor’s pretty happy to help us,” Urban chimed in.
Right now, Blackwater only has four members. We’re short on manpower.

If Cassia is willing to join, that’d make five people. Just enough. Then the boss won’t have to waste time looking for someone else
“Oh, right, do any of you have Obscura’s number? Or Instagram handle?” Seven suddenly asked.
“Urban’s Obscura’s student. He has her Instagram,” Isaiah said.
Seven pulled out his phone and looked at Urban.
If I’d known Urban had Obscura’s Instagram, I wouldn’t have had to log in every day just to camp and wait for her to follow me on Instagram.
In Seven’s mind, getting his idol’s Instagram handle meant getting one step closer to her!
Seven stared at the profile picture displayed on Urban’s phone.
Huh? That picture looks kind of familiar.
Wait! isn’t that Ms. Wood’s Instagram?
Coincidence?
Seven, full of excitement, scanned the QR code.
But what popped up was Cassia’s Instagram.
“Huh? What’s going on?”
Seven exited Cassia’s profile and scanned again.
Beep.
Still Cassia’s Instagram.
He backed out and scanned again.
Same result.
“Urban, are you sure this is Obscura’s Instagram?”
Seven stared straight into Urban’s eyes, pointing at the QR code on his phone as he asked seriously. “I’m sure. I might forget my own game ID, but there’s no way I’d mistake my mentor,” Urban said.
“Then that’s weird. Why does scanning Obscura’s Instagram QR code bring up Ms. Wood’s profile?”
Seven stared at Cassia’s profile, muttering to himself.
Suddenly, his eyes widened.
A memory surfaced. He vaguely recalled that one time, Cassia had told him she was “Obscura.”
Back then, he hadn’t believed her.
Because he’d never seen Cassia play any games before, and neither had Draven.
