Chapter 1018 What a Miserable Kidnapper

He clearly couldn’t handle this little princess; his only hope was that those people would move quickly. Once they met his demands, they could take her off his hands.
Manny hung up abruptly.
Silence fell over the area.
Victor tried to call back, but the phone had been switched off.
Silas and Lewis: “…”
The two men exchanged another look.
Lewis let out a sharp hiss. “Wait… how the hell did she manage that? She actually drove Manny into a state of stress–induced shock.”
It was true. When Manny was on the phone just now, he was clearly in a state of high–alert, reactive panic.
“This doesn’t look like he kidnapped her at all. If I didn’t know better, I’d think she was the one who kidnapped him.”
What was supposed to be a tense moment had turned into a struggle for Lewis to keep a straight face. He was finding it incredibly difficult to hold back his laughter.
“Seriously, how did she do it?”
Lately, whether it was dealing with the Morris family or the fallout of the Ashen Pact, Manny surely harbored an intense hatred for Tessa and her mother, Diana.
The team had been worried that if Tessa fell into Manny’s hands, she would at least suffer a little.
But looking at it now…
Manny was the one suffering!
Victor shot a cold glare at Lewis. Lewis immediately straightened up. “I just meant that Tessa is incredible, but we still need to find her as quickly as possible.”
Back at the hideout.
Manny saw Tessa starting to cry again.
He grew even more irritated. “Didn’t I just let you call
cor? What are you crying for now?”
“He won’t let me eat it either! Waaah… it’s just too much!” Tessa wailed.
Manny: “…”
Wait, if he’s the one who won’t let you eat, why are you crying in front of me? Go cry to him!
He was fuming. Who exactly was being tortured here?

“Fine,” Tessa sobbed. “Then take me to him”
Manny: “…”
The crowd: ..
Her demands were becoming more outrageous by the second.
Manny’s face was beyond dark; it was practically coal–black. “Do you think I’m an idiot?”
“The only reason I’m not hitting you right now is because I don’t have the Ashen Pact back yet. Once it’s in my hands, just you wait and see if I don’t beat you.”
“Waaah… I’m so scared!” Tessa mocked piteously.
Manny: “…”
Look at this attitude!
She was nothing like that vicious woman, Diana.
Thinking back to when Diana returned to Noctarth, the entire Ashen Pact hadn’t known a moment of peace. That woman was terrifyingly efficient, walking with a literal aura of power.
A daughter raised by a woman like that should have been a fierce tigress.
And yet, this was it?
“Fine, fine! I won’t hit you until they return my things. Just hurry up and eat
“And you’ll hit me after they return them?” Tessa asked.
Return them? It feels pretty unlikely they’ll return anything…
Tessa had been by Victor’s side; she knew exactly how badly the Ashen Pact had been gutted. Never mind Victor’s hatred for Dale–there were also Derrick and Marie!
Once something went into those two’s pockets, it never came back out. It was virtually impossible for the Ashen Pact to ever be whole again.
Theo reminded Manny, “If they return everything to you, you can’t hit her anymore.”
Manny glanced at Tessa,
He felt even angrier.
“I hate this woman to death!
“Young Master, we are after the money this time. Have you forgotten? Theo mindest huss aga
“Money, money… you make us sound like a bunch of bandits. Many unigred,

Manny’s gaze fell back on Tessa. “Hurry up and cat. Once you’re done, get back in the cage.”
Tessa: “…”
