The Returned Heiress Who Never Fit In
Chapter 1032 The Most Direct Concern

Rianne was already clutching a chicken wing from the bucket, happily gnawing away.
This is it… this is what paradise feels like. She used to have to sneak out for this back when Tempest strictly forbade it. As it turned out, being able to properly savor the food she actually loved tasted far better than any stolen bite.
“I can handle it.” Eddie said.
Eddie actually quite liked the taste of chili. It was such a shame that most people couldn’t prepare it correctly. Back in Falvaria, there were very few restaurants that did it justice.
Rianne took a seat across from him. Eddie picked up a shrimp and began peeling it for her.
“I can do it myself, thank you,” Rianne said, feeling a bit self–conscious the moment the shrimp landed in
her small bowl.
“Just eat,” Eddie replied simply.
“Oh.”
Rianne popped the shrimp into her mouth. The flavor was incredible.
Eddie continued peeling them for her, one after another. It was a strange sensation as she wondered if this was what it felt like to be truly looked after?
Back when the Hale family had their formal dinners, she never wanted to go, but Tempest would always force her to attend. At every meal, Ariana would make Tempest peel her shrimp or pick the bones out of her fish.
But now, she finally had someone willing to peel shrimp for her, and they tasted pretty good.
After Eddie had peeled a fair amount for her, he paused. “Are you feeling any better yet?”
“What?” Rianne asked, caught off guard. She had no idea what he was referring to.
“If you’re still feeling horrible, you shouldn’t be eating anything too spicy right now. You understand?”
Rianne’s mind went blank.
Good grief…
She felt the temperature in her cheeks rising rapidly.
“Why are you blushing?” Eddie asked. “I’m just asking if you’re feeling better or not. If you’re still feeling horrible, don’t eat too much today. You can have more once you’ve recovered.”
“Could you please stop talking? Just… be quiet?”
Rianne’s expression was a mix of mortification and disbelief. Gosh! How can anyone be this blunt!

“I’m just concerned about you,” Eddie said.
“I don’t need it, thank you!”

Concern? Who would show concern like this? Surely anyone would find his bluntness impossible to handle.
“Well, are you going to keep eating or not?” Eddie pressed.
“I’m done, alright?”
This is a complete nightmare! Why is he still talking about it!
“So, are you okay or not?”
Save me. Rianne felt her body temperature spiraling out of control. Seeing her stop eating, Eddie assumed the medicine he had given her wasn’t effective enough.
“That shouldn’t be right. I gave you the most effective medicine I had. How could you not be fine yet?”
“I am begging you to stop talking.”
Honestly, this man… She had already told him to stop, so why was he still so stubborn?
“I’m just confused,” Eddie muttered. “I’ll switch your medication tomorrow.”
Rianne was speechless. She really shouldn’t have let him in. So what if they couldn’t finish the food? She could have put it in the fridge and reheated it tomorrow. But now, it was utterly exhausting.
Just then, Tessa called. Rianne looked at her phone like it was a lifeline. “I have to take this.”
She grabbed the phone, looking for a way to dodge Eddie, but the apartment was so small there was nowhere to hide. Ultimately, she stepped out into the hallway to take the call.
“Tessa?”
“Rianne,” Tessa groaned, sounding clearly stressed. “Victor is still puking.”
Apparently, the man was throwing up everything he ate. Even with the medication, it only provided temporary relief.
Rianne frowned. “I’ll switch his medication. If he’s still vomiting after that, then his morning sickness might just be the uncontrollable kind.”
“What? Uncontrollable? What do we do then?”
“He’ll just have to keep vomiting. It’ll stop once you give birth.”
