Chapter 1026 A Traitorous Little Sister
She could mess with anyone, but surely she wouldn’t mess with Manny?
He was the person who hated her most in the world!

Yet, despite being kidnapped by him, she actually had the nerve to complain that he hadn’t provided her with decent food and drink.
Back in Rivermount, Stella had always thought Tessa was incredibly sharp. But ever since Victor took her under his wing, the girl seemed to have become an entirely different person!
However, from Stella’s perspective, this could very well be a tactic Tessa used to lull her captors into a false sense of security.
When Marie returned, she saw Abraham holding Stella in his arms once again.
“Tch—look at you, acting like she’s a precious treasure, terrified someone else might even give her a hug.”
Marie was thoroughly unimpressed by Abraham’s behavior. It was bad enough that he had snatched little Stella away when they were children. Now that they were grown, he had snatched her away with the clear intention of marriage.
That was fine… but every single time she saw Stella, the girl was almost always in Abraham’s
arms.
Marie found this highly irritating. What was the point?
Abraham’s gaze darkened. “You have an objection?”
“I actually do,” Marie retorted. “Stella doesn’t belong to you alone. Why do you have to keep holding her?”
Honestly, she’d had enough. He had a legitimate title now, yet he still acted as if someone was going to steal her away.
Abraham glanced at Marie, then looked down at the little darling in his arms. “Tell her–do you belong to me alone?”
Uh… you really shouldn’t be asking me that, right?
Seeing Abraham’s focus shift directly to Stella, Marie grew even more annoyed. ‘As if she’d dare say no! Honestly.”
If she did say no, her big brother would surely make her little Stella pay for it that night. Wait-

the little thing was pregnant now; surely her brother wasn’t such a beast, right?
Marie stared directly at Abraham.
Abraham’s gaze grew increasingly cold and distant. “What is that look for?!”
“I’m seeing if you’re a beast.”
Derrick walked in just in time to hear Marie’s comment. At her words, his legs actually went a bit weak with apprehension.
Stella: ” ”
…
The corners of her mouth twitched as she looked at Marie. She could feel the low pressure radiating from Abraham. Stella had a headache; her sister was truly… brave.
The moment the words left her mouth, Marie regretted it. Damn it. Ever since she got pregnant, her mouth and her brain just couldn’t seem to coordinate. Her mouth was usually miles ahead before her brain could even catch up.
“Ah, I didn’t mean it like that! Brother, you…”
Abraham: “I’m a beast?”
“No, it’s me! I’m the beast!” Derrick interjected. “She calls me a beast every single day.”
Before Marie could say another word, Derrick stepped forward and pulled her into his arms, hastily claiming the lethal accusation for himself.
He had seen Abraham hit his sister before… he couldn’t let him lay a hand on Marie again. More importantly, if Abraham actually lost his temper, Derrick knew he was no match for him. If he could have beaten him even a little, he wouldn’t have been chased across the globe for all those years.
་
Abraham glared coldly at Marie. Before she could react, Derrick gave her shoulder a sharp
squeeze.
Marie caught on immediately. “Right! I was talking about Derrick! I was calling Derrick a beast.”
Stella gave Abraham’s tie a small tug. “I want to cat.”
Tessa had been missing, and Stella had been so sick with worry that she hadn’t eaten a thing all day. Now that Tessa was safe, she was hungry.
Abraham looked down at the obedient Stella in his arms. The stern expression he held for Marie softened instantly. “What do you want to eat?”

She was mostly just hungry and wanted food; as for what it was, she didn’t really care.

They had just sat down in the dining room when Evie called Marie. On the other end of the line, she was venting non–stop about Eddie.
“Tell me—I literally delivered the girl to his bed, he’s already had a taste of her, so how on earth did he manage to lose her?”
“How did I end up with a brother like him? Seriously, it’s driving me crazy. I don’t even want him anymore.”
Evie was thoroughly dissatisfied with Eddie. It was Eddie who wanted to marry a wife, yet she, the younger sister, had to be the one helping him chase her. Was that fair?
“Wait, what did you just say?” Marie’s voice rose an octave. “You were the one who put her in Eddie’s bed?”
Stella, sitting across from her: “…”
Abraham and Derrick: “…”

Three pairs of eyes turned simultaneously to look at Marie.
Wait, why is everyone looking at me? I wasn’t the one who stuffed Rianne under Eddie’s covers:
It was Evie. But still, this was a bit much, wasn’t it?
Marie stood up and walked to the side to take the call. For once, she didn’t lose her temper with Evie. Instead, she tried to reason with her. “I know you’re anxious, but don’t you think this is going a bit too far?”
“I’m going too far?” Evie countered. “Do’you expect Eddie to chase Rianne on his own? Who knows how many years that would take? Am I ever going to be allowed to get married at this rate?”
With Eddie’s slow–moving pace, Evie figured she’d probably never get married in this lifetime. She didn’t understand why her mother and the others had to come up with such a rule in the first place.
