And since Derrick had always been at odds with Gary, there was no way he could’ve known about this.
Abraham let out a cold snort; then he pulled out his phone and called Abel, telling him to come immediately.
When Abel arrived, Eddie came with him. Abraham headed straight for the study with Abel, leaving Eddie with Stella.
Eddie watched Abraham’s sharp, imposing back disappear around the corner before turning to Stella. “What’s going on? He looks pissed–and I didn’t even do anything this time!”
Stella stayed quiet.
Eddie squinted at her. “Wait, did you piss him off? Nah, that can’t be it–if you did, he wouldn’t look that mad.”
“Shut your mouth,” Stella said flatly.
She didn’t tell him about Reese.
But she trusted Abraham completely.
Eddie pouted. “Have you called Evie yet?”
Stella said nothing.
When he noticed her silence, Eddie tilted his head. “If you’re trying to find out what’s Rianne, call her yourself.”
“Hey! Who said I wanted to know? Don’t start rumors.”
“Sure, you don’t,” Stella said dryly. “Not that I care either way.”

Eddie went quiet.
Stella crossed her arms, giving him a look.
He frowned, clearly not ready to drop it. “She’s your best friend. You’re really not worried something might’ve happened to her?”
“I’m telling you, Tempest’s little sister isn’t someone to mess with. She paid off that Yalvoria–you know what that means, right?”

Stella’s expression shifted. “She bribed them?”

Eddie nodded. “So call Evie already; tell her to stick close to your friend–don’t let her out of sight.”
Stella fell silent again. Seriously? What the heck is Tempest doing? After all that yelling, he still didn’t think to watch his sister?
“What about Tempest? How’s he acting?” she asked.
“Meetings every day at the company,” Eddie replied.
Stella stared at him.
You’ve got to be kidding me.
“Wait… how do you even know all that? You’ve been having people follow Tempest and his sister?”
Eddie scoffed, clicking his tongue. “Me? Follow him? As if.”
“Then how do you know?”
“I heard it by the way–okay?” he said with a shrug.
Stella gave him a look. By the way? Seriously?
Eddie crossed his arms. “Anyway, things are messy right now. You should really call Evie.”
“I’m not calling. If you want to know, you call.””
“What? Why would I? I was just being nice–ever heard of that?”
Stella gave a dismissive snort and turned her head away, ignoring him completely.
Eddie muttered, “Unbelievable. I try to be nice and get treated like crap.”
She didn’t respond, face turned stubbornly aside.
Eddie sighed.
Man, this woman’s impossible to please. Whoever said pregnant women get soft must’ve never met her.
Downstairs, Eddie was still trying every trick he could think of to convince Stella to call Evie and ask about Rianne.
Upstairs, Abraham sat in the study, fingers interlocked, his entire presence radiating quiet

When Abel finished looking through the photos and the reports on Mona’s frequent trips to Hamlin, his expression hardened.
“Didn’t expect Mrs. Tom to be hiding such a snake’s heart,” he said coldly.
Abraham’s eyes narrowed. “You’ve got twenty–four hours. I want the full story.”
“Yes, sir.”
Ever since the incident with Kelly, the Tom family had been practically invisible in Abraham’s world–especially Mrs. Tom.
No one would’ve guessed she’d been scheming like this all along.
Abel understood perfectly. Abraham wanted to know exactly what kind of game they were playing–and how deep it went.
“I’m on it.”
“Go.”
