Chapter 851 Everyone’s Lost Their Mind

Marie wondered. How insane is Reese, really?. For years, the woman’s been quiet, composed–and now this. Abraham knows Stella inside and out, down to the smallest detail. Does Reese actually think having the same face will let her take Stella’s place? She’s seriously underestimating my brother.
Derrick said, “She’s in Hamlin now. And it’s not just plastic surgery to look like Stella; even her mannerisms and fashion sense are identical. You should understand what she’s trying to do now, right?”
“I get it,” Marie replied.
She wasn’t stupid. With how Derrick spelled it out, there was no mistaking it—she understood perfectly.
Seeing how quickly she grasped and accepted it, Derrick felt a twinge in his chest.
Why was it that when he told her he was the man from that night, she didn’t believe him so easily?
Marie’s temper flared. “These people still haven’t learned their lesson, huh?”
Had everyone already forgotten how Abraham dealt with the Tom family before? And yet, they still dared to meddle again?
“And Reese,” Derrick added, “is Mona’s daughter.”
Marie froze. Wait… what?
“How the heck is she connected to that woman again?”
She had no good opinion of Mona–Derrick’s stepmother. Three years ago, before Kelly’s incident, Mona had strutted around the social circles like a peacock; after Kelly’s downfall, she’d toned it down–but only slightly.
She’d been scheming ever since, desperate to seize what was left of the Tom family’s assets.
Those greedy eyes of hers had always made Marie sick.
“This whole thing’s complicated,” Derrick said. “We need to get back to Falvaria immediately.”
Marie glared at him. “Your Tom family’s a mess–every single one of you.”
The moment she heard Reese was Mona’s daughter, she could only look at Derrick with an expression beyond words.

He reached out to ruffle her hair. “Then this time, when we go back, should we just take whatever’s left of the Tom family?”
“What’s even left?” Marie asked dryly.
From her perspective, there wasn’t much. Her brother had already stripped them bare after what happened with Stella. The Tom family was basically history by now.
“A dead camel’s still bigger than a horse,” Derrick said. “Search carefully enough, and there’ll still be scraps to take. Even a mosquito’s leg is still meat.”
Marie fell silent.
“Main thing is,” Derrick continued, “your brother wants to stir up some chaos in the Tom family.”
“What about Victor?” she asked.
If this was her brother’s idea, she had to return to Falvaria–but Victor…
“Your brother said he’s got it handled. We don’t need to interfere,” Derrick replied.
Anyway, he’d already taken enough from Ashen Pact to make it worth his while.
Marie nodded. “Fine. Let’s go, then.”
When it came to anything involving Stella, she didn’t dare waste a second.
Meanwhile, Dan was seething–so angry his liver practically hurt. After being beaten half to death by Marie, he hadn’t even recovered before hearing about her latest phone call.
The fury that boiled up inside him made him feel like he was about to explode.
Andy tried to calm him down. “Alright, alright, don’t get so worked up. You’re still covered in injuries.”
“I swear I must’ve owed her in a past life!” Dan snapped. “If she doesn’t abort that kid, she’s not
even human!”
At that exact moment, Marie–just discharged from the hospital–was walking past his room.
Hearing those words made her blood boil all over again. She’d just forced herself to swallow her anger over the Stella situation; now it surged right back to the surface.
“That trash…”
Her sleeves went up instantly–she was ready to storm in and beat the crap out of him again.

Derrick grabbed her around the waist. “Marie, we really have to go.”
