The Returned Heiress Who Never Fit In novel Chapter 877

The private jet smoothly touched down on the tarmac, its wheels rolling steadily across the sleek surface. This was the Dawson family’s exclusive airstrip, a secluded spot where only their aircraft ever landed. At that moment, their plane was the lone vehicle resting there, surrounded by the quiet expanse.

Marie fixed Sebastian with a piercing glare so icy and sharp that he nearly recoiled, retreating back into the safety of the plane. The tension between them was palpable, and Sebastian’s heart hammered with the uneasy realization that staying in Falvaria was a dangerous gamble. Eventually, Marie would come for him—there was no doubt about that.

That woman never let go of a grudge. Not ever.

Derrick was quick to help Marie into the waiting car, but throughout the entire journey, she unleashed a torrent of anger on him. Her voice was sharp and unforgiving as she berated him for running off that day, calling him every name in the book—idiot, coward, disgrace. The fury in her eyes was so intense that at times it seemed she might actually strike him.

Each time Marie’s temper flared dangerously, Derrick gently caught her hands, soothing her with soft words. “Hold it in, Marie,” he urged quietly. “Wait until after the baby’s born.”

Once Marie fully accepted that the child was indeed Derrick’s, the threats to get rid of the baby ceased. But Sebastian? There was no way he was stepping into that car.

He remained rooted on the tarmac, watching until the car carrying Marie and Derrick disappeared down the winding road. Only then did he cautiously emerge from the plane’s shadow, his heart still pounding in his chest.

“God, this is going to be the death of me,” he muttered under his breath, the adrenaline still coursing through his veins.

The entire flight had been a nerve-wracking ordeal, filled with dread that Marie might suddenly storm the plane and unleash her wrath. And honestly, if she had, he couldn’t have blamed her. Marie was terrifying—her presence alone could send chills down anyone’s spine.

If she really decided to beat him half to death, it wouldn’t just frighten him—it might actually kill him.

Even worse, she was pregnant. If she accidentally hurt the baby while lashing out at him, Derrick would never forgive him.

“I swear, I’m caught between two ticking time bombs,” he grumbled bitterly as he shuffled off the plane.

His anger toward Derrick still simmered beneath the surface. The chaos of that night had been overwhelming, and if he hadn’t dragged Derrick out of the mess, he himself would have been the one left battered and bruised.

He had treated Derrick like a true brother, only to be betrayed and sold out like a fool. The memory alone made his blood boil.

Without hesitation, he pulled out his phone and dialed a number. The line connected almost instantly. “Mr. Sebastian?”

“Get the car here—right now. They’ve already left.”

There was no way Sebastian was going to ride with Derrick again. Fear of Marie had pushed him to arrange his own pickup.

But the voice on the other end hesitated. “Mr. Sebastian, the road leading to the Dawson family airport is closed off. No one is being allowed through.”

“What?” Sebastian’s voice cracked in disbelief.

“I’m stuck outside the exit gate. They won’t let me in. Maybe you can find another car inside and meet me halfway?”

Sebastian fell silent, his eyes scanning the empty tarmac. Aside from the solitary jet, the airstrip was deserted.

This was the Dawsons’ private airfield—normally, no outside vehicles were permitted entry.

And the car that had taken Derrick and Marie was already gone.
