**Chapter 904: Pulling the Thread**
Stella had already taken the initiative, dispatching a team to delve into the depths of Reese’s finances. The numbers were staggering. Over the years, Reese’s spending in Hamlin had ballooned, and that was without even factoring in the extensive list of plastic surgeries she had undergone.
The lavish home she resided in, the sleek cars she drove, and the designer items she flaunted in Hamlin were all of the highest caliber.
This… was a financial realm that Mona could never hope to reach with the meager allowance she received from Holt!
After all, in Holt’s presence, Mona had carefully crafted an image of compliance, of wanting for nothing. How much had she secretly siphoned off to keep up with Reese’s extravagant lifestyle?
Marie, always perceptive, raised an eyebrow. “What you’re suggesting is to pull one thread and watch the entire tapestry unravel?”
Stella’s response was immediate, her eyes gleaming with determination. “Exactly! Once we expose the Hamlin situation, all of Mona’s clandestine activities in Falvaria will inevitably come to light.”
Stella was resolute; she intended to ensure that both Mona and Reese would be left with no avenue for redemption.
Was it scheming? Perhaps, but she was more than willing to let Reese maintain her facade and see if she could truly achieve her desires!
Marie nodded, her enthusiasm infectious. “Alright, let’s do it!”
The two women leaned in closer, their voices dropping to conspiratorial whispers, plotting their next moves.
As Derrick and Abraham descended the staircase, they were greeted by the sight of the two women, their heads bent together, immersed in their secretive exchange.
Derrick couldn’t help but scoff. “Could those two be any closer?”
In many families, even biological sisters didn’t share such an intimate bond.
Yet, every time Derrick laid eyes on them, it seemed their heads were always huddled together, sharing secrets meant only for each other.
A small smile crept onto Abraham’s face as he observed them. “They’ve been inseparable since childhood.”
Derrick rolled his eyes, dismissing the sentiment.
It was undeniable that their connection was profound. In their youth, Derrick often pondered what sort of men could possibly come between them as they matured, given their closeness.
Well, one of those men was now firmly entrenched within the Dawson family!
After discussing Mona, Marie turned her attention back to Stella, her voice softening. “Don’t let yourself get too worked up about Rianne’s situation. If it becomes overwhelming, just tell me, and I’ll take care of it for you! It’s just Tempest; I mean… why should you be the one to handle it? Is her husband just a figurehead?”
Before Marie could finish her thought, Derrick suddenly swooped in from behind, lifting her off the ground effortlessly!
“Time to go,” he declared with a grin.
They had only just finished breakfast, which could easily double as lunch, so there was no need for another meal.
Marie found herself being whisked away by Derrick, leaving Stella fuming. “What is Derrick doing? My sister and I were in the middle of an important conversation!”
That Derrick, always so disruptive!
Noticing her indignation, Abraham affectionately ruffled her hair. “Well, she is Derrick’s wife now. She probably won’t be spending much time here anymore.”
Stella’s face brightened momentarily. “No, she mentioned she plans to eat at home for a long time.”
The thought of Marie dining at home filled her with warmth, but it simultaneously deepened her disdain for the Tom family!
Ever since Holt’s first wife had passed away and he had brought Mona into their lives, the Tom family had been in disarray.
