Chapter 926 Don’t You Know
Tempest: “She’s in there because of you, and you’re saying you’re not in charge?”
Enraged, Tempest roared into the phone.
Rianne: “No. She’s not in there because of me. She’s in there because she broke the law!”
With that, Rianne hung up before Tempest could say another word.
It was the first time she had ever been so firm with Tempest.
It was also the first time… she had ever hung up on him so decisively.

In the past… he had been like a parent in her world. She had to listen to him. Whatever he said, went. For years, everyone–whether in the Hale family or in Tempest’s circle–had fed her that
same message.
That message had been implanted so deeply that Rianne naturally assumed she should obey Tempest.
But thinking back on it now, all those years were a complete waste.
Why did she have to listen to him?
And why… did she have to stay by his side?
Rianne’s long–standing obedience and submission to Tempest shattered in an instant.
Her path had turned in a completely different direction.
Meanwhile, on Tessa’s side.
Diana had originally said she wouldn’t be back in Redwood for three days, but she had returned early.
Victor finished a call, got into bed, and wrapped his arms around Tessa.
His movement woke her. She groggily opened her eyes. “What are you doing?”
She was sleeping. Was this really the time for cuddling? She was so sleepy.
Tessa felt like she couldn’t even open her eyes, but Victor’s next words shocked her fully awake.

Chapter 926 Don’t You Know
“Your mom is at Black Mountain right now.”
Tessa’s sleepy eyes flew open. She instinctively propped herself mom is?”
“Black Mountain.”
“She’s back already?” Tessa was stunned.
Hadn’t she said three days? It wasn’t time yet.
Victor: “Want to go?”
“Hang on, I’ll call her.”
“Where did
you say my
Tessa turned, fumbled for the phone on the nightstand, and dialed Diana.
Tessa had no good feelings about Black Mountain. She would avoid going if she could.
Especially when she thought of Dale’s… madness. He really had been driven crazy. Now, he was desperate to take any child back to Black Mountain as long as a paternity test said they were his.
It… wasn’t a father’s love.
The call connected quickly.
“What?” Diana’s annoyed voice came through the line.
Tessa jumped. She glanced at Victor, then covered the receiver and turned away. “Mom? Are you at Black Mountain?”
Diana: “Why are you asking so many questions, kid?”
But she wasn’t a kid. Ah… whatever. In her mom’s eyes, she’d never grow up. Besides, her mom was rarely around, so she had no concept of her being an adult.
“Well, should I come over?”
Diana: “What would you come for? You’re not big enough to be backup.”
Huh?
Big enough? Did she mean… she wasn’t fat enough to be intimidating?
Tessa pouted. “This is Redwood, isn’t it? I’m just worried about you…”
“Your dad’s here. Don’t worry!”
