“And the reason they spoil her is just because they think they can protect her, no matter what trouble she gets into.”
“So this time, let them have a taste of what it feels like to be powerless to protect someone!”
Listening to Stella’s indignant words, Abraham pinched her cheek. “Are you sure about this? If you do this, Rianne and Tempest are completely finished!”
“Finished is finished. What’s the point of keeping someone like that around?”
Abraham: “Is that what Rianne thinks too?”
“Of course. If she didn’t, she wouldn’t have gone to Yalvaria and taken a job at the hospital there.”
Rianne’s actions said it all.
If she still had even a sliver of hope for Tempest, she wouldn’t have left Rivermount.
“Anyway, on this matter, don’t let Tempest find any loopholes.”
Stella huffed and nuzzled against Abraham’s chest. Seeing her cute, pouting look, Abraham squeezed the nape of her neck.
And so…
Stella’s word was final: Ariana was not getting out.
It didn’t matter what methods Tempest tried in Yalvaria; nothing worked.
Over in Yalvaria.
Tempest was truly going insane. He had pulled the video footage of Evie beating Ariana.
Just as Hailey had said, Evie was ruthless.
And when Ariana was taken away by the police, she was unconscious…
Rianne… was also there.
She just watched silently the entire time. Tempest was so angry the veins on his forehead bulged.

He took out his phone and dialed Rianne, only to be met with a cold, automated message.
Rianne… had blocked him.
There had been a blizzard in Yalvaria for the past two days, making it difficult to get around, and he was seriously injured.
In the end, Tempest was so furious he made a call to bring his people over. What that meant, needed no explanation.
When it came to Ariana, his stance was unyielding.
After making the arrangements, he dialed Jane’s number.
Jane, because of the blizzard, was stranded at the airport. Message after message of flight reschedules had her fuming.
When she saw Tempest’s call, Jane exploded. “I’m already absent without leave! What more do you want?”
Is he trying to kill me…?
When she realized there was no way she’d make it back for her wedding tomorrow morning, Jane was sick with anger.
Naturally, her tone with Tempest was less than polite.
Tempest: “You have thirty minutes to get your ass back here. I sent you the location!”
It was too troublesome without an assistant.
Thinking about his day, Tempest had no patience left for Jane either.
Jane wasn’t afraid of him anymore. “Tempest, do you have a hole in your brain? I already quit!”
“Get my ass back here? Why don’t you go fly to the moon?”
“We’re both just human! Stop trying to pull rank. The feudal dynasty ended centuries ago. Are you still trying to train slaves?”
Tempest: “…”
Jane: “I just work for you! I’m not your handmaiden! Serving you tea doesn’t make me your slave!”
Tsk. That clueless bastard.

After her tirade, Jane hung up.

Still furious, she cursed at the disconnected call. “I hope you lose your wife for good this time!”
Given how he’d always handled things between his sister and his girlfriend…
If Rianne didn’t stand up for herself this time, Jane would lose all respect for her. She’d deserve all the crap she’d put up with.
On Tempest’s end, after being cussed out by Jane, his face was ashen.
Hailey sat nervously on the sofa. “Has Assistant Huang gone crazy? How dare she talk to Tempest like that!”
All day long…
Because Jane was gone, Tempest had her run his errands, but she didn’t know how.
Of course, since she couldn’t get anything right, Tempest was unhappy.
Right now, Hailey desperately wanted Jane to come back.
But thinking about Jane’s attitude and that shouting on the phone…!
If you didn’t know better, you’d think Jane was the boss!
Damn it, she’s just an assistant. How dare she talk to her boss like that? Has she lost her mind?
