Chapter 969 A Small Cake
Evie: “…” This idiot. Doesn’t he know I’m trying to give them some space? His EQ is completely hopeless.
Hearing the door slam shut, Eddie pursed his lips and went straight over to Rianne.
Rianne had already zipped up her suitcase and was standing up.
Eddie handed her the small cake. “Eat something sweet if you’re in a bad mood.”

He was very direct. He didn’t know how to comfort girls but he figured eating something when upset might help.
When Rianne saw the small cake he offered, she was stunned for a moment, then she smiled.
She took the cake. “Thank you.”
She didn’t refuse. In the past, when she was with Tempest, she always had to buy her own.
This was the first time someone had bought one for her.
Tempest used to buy them, too, but every time he did, she never got to eat any. Ariana always took them.
And she, of course, wasn’t going to complain to Tempest over a simple dessert.
Because of this, Ariana had always acted brazenly.
Now, eating something bought by someone else for the first time, Rianne’s face instantly lit up.
Seeing how genuinely happy she was, Eddie said, “It’s just a small cake. Why are you this happy?”
Rianne replied, “You don’t understand. This is the first time I’ve ever eaten a cake someone else bought for me.”
“Stella never bought you one?”
As for Tempest, it was better not to even mention him.
With a sister like that, anything Tempest bought would probably be snatched away.
He had never seen a sister so possessive of her brother.
It would be one thing if they weren’t blood–related, but if they were? Wouldn’t that be a complete mess?
Rianne said, “That’s different.”
When Stella bought things, they would share. This was the first time one was bought specifically for her, one she actually got to eat.
“What about Evie? Isn’t she joining us?”
“She ran off. No idea why.”
Eddie couldn’t make heads or tails of his sister’s baffling behavior.
But when Rianne heard this, the smile on her face widened.

Eddie went to take a shower.

Rianne cut the cake in half, brought it to exist.”
Pie’s door, and knocked. Evie called out, “Please pretend I don’t
Rianne said, “I’m coming in.”
“I’m not here.”
Rianne opened the door and went straight in. Evie was lying on her bed playing a game and saw Rianne
enter.
“I told you, just pretend I’m not here. I won’t bother you two.”
Rianne placed the small cake on the table. “Eat the cake
Evie “”
She’s giving me half?
She suddenly… felt a bit like Marie with Stella.
She used to be so envious of how adorable Stella was when she saved snacks for Marie.
And now… if Rianne became her sister–in–law, who wouldn’t love a sister–in–law like this?
She could love her for a lifetime.
“Did you eat?” Evie asked.
She had only glanced at it earlier, but the cake Eddie bought didn’t look very big. It was just a small, single- serving one.
Rianne replied, “I have half.”
“Oh. Well, thanks. I’ll buy you one next time.”
Rianne gave her a sweet smile and turned to leave.
Evie sat on her bed, stunned for a long moment. She thought: If Eddie can’t win her over this time, I’m seriously going to kill him.
Evie immediately grabbed her phone to call Marie.
But, in her eagerness to brag, she got flustered and accidentally dialed Stella instead.
Stella was with Abraham at that moment and was surprised to get a call from Evie.
“Evie?”
Did something happen to Rianne?
Evie said, “Stella? I dialed the wrong number.”
After saying that, Evie hung up.
