The moment we crossed into Obsidian Hollow, I understood Bethany had never intended to hide what she wa Wolves from different packs stood around the massive ritual ground, watching the center where markings had already been carved deep into the stone floor.

Conrad walked beside me with his warriors spread through the outer edges of the Hollow. His posture remained firm and alert as his gaze moved across every entrance and elevated ridge surrounding the area.

I stopped a few feet ahead of Conrad while the wolves around us spread into formation. My pulse remained uneven, but I refused to let her see uncertainty on my face.

“You dragged innocent wolves into this,” I replied. “This endy tonight.”

Bethany gave a quiet laugh before glancing toward the gathered witnesses around the Hollow. She looked more composed than before, and that alone unsettled me more than shouting or rage would have.

“You still think this was about the twins,” she answered. “They were only the beginning.”

Conrad stepped slightly closer to my side as several Duskveil wolves moved near the ritual markings. His warriors reacted instantly, blocking any attempt to surround us before it could fully happen

“You will stand down now,” Conrad ordered. “Or this Hollow becomes your grave.”

folded my arms sightly against my chest as frustration pushed through me. Part of me wanted to dismiss everything she said, but another part could not ignore how close her words came to thoughts I had buried myself.

Her expression hardened slightly for the first time.

“I gave them purpose,” she replied sharply. “You are the one walking willingly into another cage beside him.”

The words landed harder than I wanted them to.

I felt Conrad glance toward me briefly before returning his attention to the wolves surrounding the platform. He did not interrupt or answer for me, and somehow that mattered more than if he had tried defending trimself.

“You don’t know anything about what stands between us,” I answered carefully.

Bethany’s gaze lowered briefly toward the mark hidden beneath the sleeve covering my wrist. Her lips curved slightly like she already understood more than she should.

I followed him instantly as the Hollow exploded into chaos around us. Wolves lunged across the ritual lines while Conrad’s warriors forced them back with brutal precision that made the difference in strength painfully obvious.

Kyra suddenly appeared near the outer edge of the clearing with two guards behind her. My chest tightened the moment I saw her frightened expression scanning through the crowd until her eyes found mine.

*Amorah!” she shouted.

“What is she doing here?” I snapped while turning toward one of the guards.

“She escaped the safe route during relocation,” the wolf answered quickly. “We could not stop her without hurting her.”

Kyra rushed toward me before anyone could block her path. The moment she grabbed my arm, the markings across the ritual ground lit violently beneath our feet.

Bethany smiled.

“There,” she whispered. “That is what I needed them to see.”

The Hollow shook as several wolves backed away from the glowing lines spreading across the stone. Kyra pressed closer to me with fear written across her face while Conrad immediately moved in front of us both.

“No more,” Conrad growled.

He drove his claws directly into the center marking beside us, tearing through the ritual structure with enough force to crack, the entire platform. The reaction spread instantly through the Hollow as the glowing lines shattered apart one after another. Bethany’s expression finally broke.
