The corporate war between Julian and Caleb was escalating rapidly. Sienna didn't want to hemorrhage family assets over a marriage that was doomed to end in divorce anyway.

She called out to her son as he headed for the stairs. "Julian, come here."

Julian stopped. He already knew exactly what his mother was going to say.

Instead of walking over, he stood by the staircase. "What is it, Mom?"

Sienna stood up and closed the distance. "A man cannot let temporary emotions dictate his actions. You're acting recklessly. This is beneath you."

Julian said nothing.

Knowing her son better than anyone, Sienna understood that his silence wasn't agreement; it was defiance.

She had no desire to argue. "Have your lawyer contact the Vance family. Start the divorce proceedings. The asset liquidation is going to take time."

Julian remained completely silent.

Sienna frowned. "What is this? Are you having second thoughts about the divorce?"

"I need to think about it," Julian replied quietly.

Sienna was stunned. "When I tried to talk sense into you before, you refused to listen. Now that everything has blown up, you want to backpedal?"

"She brought a massive dowry into this marriage. All you had to do was give her the title of Mrs. Sterling, and that wealth would have stayed in our family."

"And what did you do? What possessed you? Are you finally waking up?"

"No matter the scandal surrounding her reputation right now, a clean break is the best move. Give her what belongs to her, finalize the asset split, and stop dragging this out."

Sienna firmly believed that cutting ties swiftly was the only logical solution left.

Every crisis had a silver lining.

The divorce had undeniably damaged her son's public image, but the wild rumors swirling around Elara had conveniently shifted the blame away from him.

"Mom, I... I told her it was over."

The 'her' he was referring to was obvious.
