The marble island was freezing against her bare thighs, making Elara shiver. Beyond the discomfort, doing this in the kitchen felt incredibly scandalous.

She really couldn't fathom his twisted kinks. They literally ate breakfast here.

There was a massive, incredibly soft king-sized bed just down the hall. Why did he always insist on taking her in these bizarre, impromptu locations?

"Zane..."

"Can we please go to the bed..."

He could never deny her. Not wanting to push her boundaries, Zane clamped his hands under her thighs and hoisted her up against his chest. "Hold on tight."

He carried her seamlessly down the hall and into the master suite.

They tumbled together onto the plush mattress. Zane reached blindly for the nightstand drawer, fishing out a foil packet.

"Put it on for me?" he murmured.

Elara initially wanted to refuse, but she reminded herself that she needed to step out of her comfort zone. She couldn't be the same passive partner she used to be. She tentatively took the packet from him.

Unfortunately, she had absolutely zero experience with this. She fumbled with the latex in the dim light.

"It's inside out," he rasped.

"How do you know? Are you psychic?"

Zane barked out a laugh, shifting up onto his knees. "It won't roll down if it's inside out, sweetheart."

Oh.

Right. He was completely right.

"Zane—"

He came down heavy over her, his lean body caging her in. His lips brushed against her earlobe as he whispered, "Call me Zion. My real name is Zion Whitaker."

Zion...

His birth name followed the same naming convention as his cousins.

He coaxed her gently. "Be a good girl. I want to hear you say it."

Using his secret, intimate birth name in bed felt incredibly vulnerable, almost unbearably intimate. She couldn't get the word past her lips.

Zane gripped her hips, shifting his weight against her in a slow, agonizing drag of friction. The sheer sensation pulled a soft gasp from her throat.

"Be a good girl..."
