The Salvation Knights MC Jinx's Mistake (by KJ) novel Chapter 58

Chapter 58: Merry Christmas

Deidra’s P.O.V.

This is… insane. It’s just not possible. How…?

I remember this necklace so vividly. Mom wore it all the time. Well, when she wasn’t at work. She must have left it behind without realizing it after one of our Christmas vacations here. It somehow ended up in the town’s pawn shop. All these years later and no one ever bought it.

What were the chances that Brixton just happened to see it walking by? And think of me when he saw it? Probably because of the roses and thorns, but still. How could I not take this as some sort of sign? A sign that maybe we’re actually meant to be together.

I should be freaking out. I should make some kind of excuse to go back to my own cabin and pretend this never happened. Because this is insane. Fairy-tale stuff like this doesn’t happen in real life. Especially not to someone like me.

But it’s happening. My biker bully turned out to be a prin.ce charming. I spent Christmas with people who make me feel like family. And I got a little piece of my parents back.

This is going to make my gift to Brix look like a joke. I hope he still likes it. Everyone else has been opening their gifts, and they all seem to like them a lot. I could vaguely hear Claire saying that this was too much and that I shouldn’t have gone all out. Birdie joked that I got her husband a better gift than she did. My mind was still whirling from the necklace though, so I didn’t have much of a

reaction.

I pulled Brixton’s gift from under the tree. I really owe Emma for helping me with this. I carefully pushed it across the floor towards Brix. Then I sat on my knees and waited for him to start. He gave me a sly smirk, one that I’m growing to love.

Finally, he started to tear into the wrapping paper. All to find a taped up, blank box. He gave me a curious look and I smiled shyly at him. He opened it pausing as he peered inside. He hesitated for a moment before pulling it out. A gasp left Claire, causing everyone to look our way.

Brix stared at the customized saddlebags for his bike. They were black with purple accents, just like his club logo. I’d sent Emma a picture for the business to use. Each bag had his club’s crest on

A purple knight on a motorcycle. On one side, under the crest, was his road-name stitched in purple. The other side had Waylen’s name stitched in green. I did green instead of purple because green is Waylen’s favorite color. Under Waylen’s name was his birthdate. It turned out perfectly. Even if it doesn’t feel like enough now.

“You… how did you get this?” He asked, finally looking up at me with a face of pure shock.

“Well, I noticed you staring at them the day we were all shopping,” I admitted. “I had Emma help me.

so that I could surprise you.”

His eyes returned to the saddlebags.

“You even got the club logo on it,” he mumbled, brushing his thumb over the stitching.

“Yeah, they really did a great job,” I said. But Brix didn’t say more. He just stared at it. I was starting to feel like it was a silly gift. Maybe he doesn’t actually like it. Maybe it’s too sentimental for a biker.

“Uhm, d-do you like it?” I asked lamely.

Brixton’s head snapped up, his eyes clashing with mine.

“Like it?” He repeated. “Baby, I love this,” he said, finally smiling at me.

“Oh, thank god,” I blurted as I let out a long breath.

“You out-did me, Thorn, thank you.” He said, throwing me that se.xy smirk. “I can’t wait to put it on my bike.”

That had me beaming at him.

“I didn’t out-do you,” I replied, rolling my eyes dramatically at him. “Nothing could ever out-do what you gave me today, Brix. You gave me a piece of my parents that I thought was lost forever.”

“Tulip, I didn’t even know-”

“That doesn’t matter,” I cut him off. “In fact, I think that just makes it better.”

Brix blew out a breath, probably deciding it was best to just not argue. Cobra wanted a better look

at the saddlebags, and Brix was happy to show his gift off. He and his dad gushed over the quality

of the bags. Then they moved on to Adam’s tool-se. Brix was going on and on about how he didn’t deserve such an awesome gift from me. Claire excitedly told me all about how she couldn’t wait to get her kitchen set home. It was all very sweet. It felt really nice.

This really is turning out to be the best Christmas I’ve had since my parents were alive, and I owe it all to Brixton.

“The kids are knocked out in the living room,” Birdie said, laughing as she walked into the kitchen where the rest of us were playing cards. “Two on the floor, one on the couch, and Rosie literally under the Christmas tree.”

“Oh that’s too cute,” I said as I stood up to go see.

Sure enough, they were sprawled everywhere. There were still some wrapping paper pieces on the floor, and there were toys everywhere. The kids hadn’t even put their pajamas on yet, but they were all zonked. I couldn’t help myself when I pulled my phone out to snap a few pictures.

“God, they are so stinking adorable,” I gushed as I took my seat next to Brixton once again. All for him to grab my chair and yank me as close to him as possible.

“Send me the pics you took,” he whispered in my ear.

“Ugh, it’s late,” Birdie announced, leaning back in her chair. “Think I’m gonna head to bed.”

“I’ll get the boys tucked in and be right there with Rosie,” Adam told her.

“We’re gonna go to bed too,” Claire said as she and Cobra stood. “Merry Christmas you guys, sweet dreams.”

“Good night,” I replied with a smile. “Merry Christmas.”

And then it was just me and Brixton. I turned to him, and he turned his whole body to me. His eyes flickered down to my necklace. His fingers traced it gently, sending a shiver down my spine. The

“Think around 9-10 o’clock.”

“You guys don’t let them stay up til midnight?” I asked, surprised.

“The club is still adjusting to kids being around,” he muttered. “The teenage boys are a little different. As long as it’s okay with their parents, they can stay, but the club bunnies know that they’re minors and not to touch them. Sometimes we sneak them beers, but other than that, they just get to see everything. Which isn’t… that much better, honestly.”

“Well, what was it like when you were a kid?” I asked. “Didn’t like… half of you grow up there?”

“Yeah, but… things were different then,” he said.

“How so?” I inquired.

“Well, the club bunnies we used to have started a lot of sh.it, so a lot of our parents were on and off for a lot of our childhoods,” he told me. “Especially War and Nadine’s parents. But a lot of the ol’ ladies didn’t hang around a lot when we were growing up. Which means most of us were only with our dads when we were there. They… Well, they lived the biker life and that was kinda that.”

“So, they just exposed you all to everything at a young age?” I asked, kind of shocked.

“It’s not as bad as it sounds,” he said. “War’s dad didn’t like drugs being around the club, so it was mostly just drinking and naked girls all over. Every boy’s dream, ya know?”

“That’s… just not right,” I said. “I mean, could you imagine Waylen at a party like that, seeing all of that?”

“No, which is why he isn’t allowed,” he replied instantly. “For what it’s worth, we didn’t spend time at the clubhouse like that until we were a bit older. And once things started to smooth out with our moms, things got better. Ever since War took over, things have been very different in that regard. He runs a tight ship. He doesn’t let anything get out of hand and the club bunnies are to keep their bits covered until all the kids are off the property. We’re just… not used to kids being there all the time, like how Waylen is. We’re trying to adjust though. It’d be easy if there was more than justWay.”

“I’m kinda shocked there aren’t a bunch more honestly,” I muttered, making Brix laugh.

“We learned from our parents,” he told me. “My brothers wrap their sh.it.”

“Maybe one of them should settle down and-”

“Don’t let any of them hear you say that,” he cut me off, laughing.

+25 Points

“I’d really love to see Villain fall in love,” I said, really making him laugh. “We could make fun of him for the rest of his life. It would be so fun.”

“Okay, okay, enough talking,” he said as he stood up with me in his arms. “I’m taking you to bed. Where I’m gonna ravish you for the rest of Christmas.”

That made me giggle.

“Best. Christmas. Ever.”
