The Scorned Heiress: No More Mercy novel Chapter 101

Chapter 101

Lydia’s eyes widen in sheer terror as she tries to scream, but it’s as if someone has poisoned her vocal cords. She clutches her throat in panic, opening her mouth desperately, but only a raspy exhale escapes her lips. All the color drains from her face.

The surrounding crowd recoils at the bizarre scene. How does a perfectly healthy person suddenly act like she is possessed?

“Lydia?” Harvey stares in disbelief. “Are you okay? Stop messing around!”

Lydia shakes her head frantically. She points to her own throat, then jabs a trembling finger at Tara, her eyes brimming with sheer horror.

Tara doesn’t even bat an eyelash. She takes a slow sip of water and delicately dabs her mouth with a napkin.

Beside her, Danny narrows his eyes. He caught Tara’s subtle movement just moments ago. Upon closer inspection, a microscopic silver needle rests against the side of Lydia’s neck. It is so fine that anyone not looking for it would completely miss it. He never expects Tara to possess such a lethal skill. Her acupuncture technique is flawless; with a casual flick of her wrist, she embedded the needle directly into the girl’s neck with absolute precision, perfectly hitting her mutism pressure point.

He really wonders just how many more surprises this woman is hiding.

Tara lets out a cold chuckle, her tone light and airy. “What’s the matter? You were quite the chatterbox a second ago. Cat got your tongue now? Don’t worry, I am excellent at curing diseases-especially rabies.”

A slow smirk tugs at the corner of Danny’s mouth. His Tara is absolutely adorable. He loves this arrogant, captivating side of her.

Harvey finally snaps out of his daze and glares at Tara. “What the hell did you do to her?”

Tara carelessly smooths out her cuffs. “What could I possibly do? She couldn’t keep her mouth clean, so I guess karma finally caught up with her.”

“You!” Harvey’s face turns a mottled shade of red, but he doesn’t dare make a reckless move.

Standing beside her, Danny’s eyes flash with amusement. “Did you get enough to eat?”

Tara nods. “Yeah, I’m full.”

“Then let’s go,” Danny says smoothly.

Seeing Tara preparing to leave, Lydia panics. She lets out muffled whimpers, her terror reaching a fever pitch. She shoots Tara a pleading look, begging the woman to undo whatever she did.

Tara glances sideways at her, a mocking smirk playing on her lips. “Oh, so now you know how to beg? Weren’t you having a great time insulting me just now?”

Lydia shakes her head violently, tears of frustration spilling down her cheeks as she makes strangled noises like a cat being choked.

Seeing this, Harvey grits his teeth. “Tara! Don’t push it! Change her back right now!”

“Who the hell do you think you are to give me orders?” Tara drawls.

Harvey’s face flushes with rage, his fists clenching tightly at his sides. But with Danny standing right there, he doesn’t dare throw a punch.
