Chapter 102
Chapter 102
Tara stops dead in her tracks, a chilling glint flashing in her eyes.
Sensing the sudden, suffocating drop in the air around her, Danny’s gaze turns somber. He is just about to turn around when it happens.
Smack!
A crisp, echoing slap rings out across the restaurant.
Harvey stumbles back, clutching his stinging cheek as he stares in disbelief at Tara, who has suddenly doubled back. “You… you hit me?”
Tara slowly shakes out her hand, a cold sneer curving her lips. “I hit you because I wanted to. What are gonna do about that?”
“You bitch!” Enraged, Harvey raises his fist and lunges forward.
Thud!
Danny delivers a brutal kick to the back of his knee, sending Harvey crashing heavily to the floor. The agonizing pain shoots up his leg, leaving his knee completely numb.
“Watch your mouth,” Danny says, looking down at him with a gaze as cold as ice. “If I hear you insult her one more time, I’ll make sure you never speak again.”
Cold sweat drips down Harvey’s face from the pain, but the moment he meets Danny’s terrifying stare, a violent shiver runs down his spine. His aura is suffocatingly powerful. Harvey feels like he has seen him somewhere before, but it is painfully obvious this man is not someone to be trifled with.
Sucking on her mint, Lydia watches the scene unfold in sheer horror, letting out muffled whimpers.
Tara leans down and grabs Harvey by the collar, issuing a ruthless warning. “It seems you idiots never learn your lesson.”
She leans in close to his ear, dropping her voice to a lethal whisper. “Want to try a pressure point that’s a little more exciting than the mutism one? Like one that guarantees you can’t get it up for the rest of your life?”
Harvey’s face drains of all color. This woman is a complete psycho! She is nothing like the Tara from the past. It is as if she has morphed into a terrifying monster.
“Get the hell out,” Tara says in disgust, releasing her grip. She takes a sanitizing wipe from a passing waiter and casually cleans her hands.
Side by side, she and Danny stride out of the restaurant, leaving the stunned crowd in their wake.

Chapter 102
Danny originally wanted to play the hero and show off his protective side, but whatever Tara whispered to that jerk left him looking like he’d seen a ghost. Still, pride swells in Danny’s chest. This is exactly the kind of fierce, capable woman he wants by his side-someone who
can weather any storm with him.
Harvey remains frozen on the floor, absolutely petrified. Once Danny and Tara are completely out of sight, he and Lydia scurry away like terrified mice. It is safe to say they will be taking the long way around if they ever spot Tara again.
Stepping out of the restaurant, the cool night breeze brushes against their faces.
Danny lets out a low, husky chuckle. “You are quite the badass. You know pressure points?”
Tara shoots him a sideways glance. “Why? Do you want to give it a try? I know plenty of tricks. Like instantly causing impotence.”
“I’m confident you wouldn’t joke around with your own future happiness in the bedroom,” Danny murmurs, his voice thick with seductive tension.
A faint blush creeps up the tips of Tara’s ears. “What nonsense are you spouting? What does that have to do with me?”
Danny just laughs softly, leaving the question hanging.
Suddenly, Tara’s phone shatters the moment. She glances at the screen to see Keira’s name.
A jolt of panic hits her, and she answers immediately. “Keira, what’s going on?”
“Tara, you have to get here now. It’s Mom,” Keira’s voice cracks with tears, breaking into panicked sobs. “She answered a phone call and just… collapsed.”
How could this happen? Aunt Kellen has been recovering so well. She must have received a
massive shock.
