The Scorned Heiress: No More Mercy novel Chapter 104

Chapter 104

Kellen always had a faint suspicion, but she carried so much guilt over her inability to conceive again. After a difficult birth with Keira, her body was severely weakened. Despite years of treatments, another pregnancy was impossible. Because of that lingering guilt, she turned a blind eye to her husband’s distant behavior. The constant emotional toll only worsened her health.

She just never expected Douglas to strike when she was already fighting for her life.

“Aunt Kellen, you need to rest,” Tara says softly, patting Kellen’s hand. She looks up. “Keira go brew a calming infusion for your mother.”

Once Kellen drinks the tonic and drifts into a much-needed sleep, Tara turns to her cousin. “Since your father wants a divorce, tell him to come back. How else is he going to sign the papers?”

Keira twists her fingers together, biting her lip. “Tara… he is back. He’s staying at a hotel right now. He said his lawyer already drafted the agreement and he just needs Mom to sign it.”

Tara lets out a dark scoff. “In his dreams.”

A wave of relief washes over Keira. As long as Tara is here, she isn’t afraid of anything.

“Where is he staying?” Tara asks.

“He’s at The Grand Imperial, suite 1808.”

The moment Douglas returns, he immediately tries to force Kellen into a corner.

A chilling light dances in Tara’s eyes. “Perfect. We can settle all our scores at once.”

“I’m going with you tomorrow,” Keira says, anger finally breaking through her grief. “I want to see exactly what kind of woman made him treat my mother like this!”

Growing up, she thought her father was just always busy with work. Now she realizes it was because she is a girl. Her own father despises her for not being a son.

Tara nods. She is going to get justice for her aunt.

By the next morning, Kellen is fully awake and startlingly calm. She grasps Tara’s hand, her voice frail but resolute. “Tara, I’m not going to stop you this time. For years, I’ve been far too weak.”

Tara gently squeezes her hand back. “Just rest, Aunt Kellen. Today, I am going to make Douglas pay for what he’s done.”

At ten in the morning, Tara and Keira arrive at the Grand Imperial.

They take the elevator straight up to the 18th floor.

Chapter 104

Standing outside room 1808, Tara takes a deep breath and rings the doorbell.

“Who is it?” Douglas barks impatiently from the other side.

“Room service,” Tara replies, dropping her voice.

The door swings open. The moment Douglas recognizes them, all the color drains from his face. “What are you two doing-”

Tara cuts him off with a cold smirk. “Enjoying your stay?”

Her gaze sweeps past him, landing on a panicked woman and a young boy huddled inside the luxurious suite. “So, this must be the mistress and the bastard son?”

Shoving the door fully open, Tara strides into the room with Keira right behind her.

“Is this the reason you want Aunt Kellen to leave empty-handed?” Tara sneers, eyeing the mother and child in disgust.
