The Scorned Heiress: No More Mercy novel Chapter 111

Chapter 111

Eleanor’s piercing gaze sweeps the room. “There is no rush,” she says coldly. “If we are investigating this, we will get to the absolute bottom of it.”

Deanna looks at Jade’s pale face, her chest tight with anxiety. “Mom, let’s get Jade to the hospital first. She fell down the stairs. She might have a serious head injury.”

Mr. Dennis hurriedly calls for Jake to drive her to the emergency room. This is exactly what Jade wants; she knows if she stays any longer, her lie will be exposed.

Though Eleanor wants to keep pressing, Jake has already scooped Jade into his arms and rushed out the door.

Meanwhile, the estate manager retrieves the security footage. The high-definition screen clearly shows Jade lunging at Tara first. When Tara dodges, Jade deliberately throws herself toward the staircase. Even more damning, as she rolls down the steps, Jade carefully protects her head and vital areas. There is no head injury. She likely doesn’t even have a

scratch.

Eleanor lets out a heavy sigh, her eyes brimming with profound disappointment. She hasn’t seen Jade in a while, and this girl has become completely unrecognizable from the sweet child she remembers. Eleanor closes her eyes, taking a deep breath to suppress her surging fury.

“Mom…” Deanna starts nervously, but Eleanor raises a hand to silence her.

“Enough. You have all spoiled her rotten over the years. I cannot believe she is capable of such malicious scheming,” Eleanor snaps.

Charles remains silent, his brow furrowed. He has always doted on Jade, but the video

evidence leaves no room for argument.

Standing nearby, Tara watches the chaos with an aloof expression, as if the drama has nothing to do with her.

“Tara, what do you think about all this?” Eleanor suddenly asks, her voice low and

authoritative.

Tara meets her grandmother’s gaze, a faint smirk playing on her lips. “The truth is right there on the screen. I trust you will make the right decision, Grandma. I have nothing to add.”

Eleanor studies her for a few seconds before sighing. “You certainly know how to keep your composure.” No wonder her late husband left the majority of his shares to Tara. He always had a perfect read on people. Out of all the grandchildren, Tara is undeniably the most grounded and reliable.

Deanna can’t help but interject. “Mom, maybe Jade just had a moment of temporary insanity. She’s still young, and we-”

“Young enough to frame her own sister?” Eleanor sneers. “Young enough to put on a theatrical performance for sympathy? This level of calculation isn’t developed overnight”

Deanna is left speechless, her face draining of color.

Just then, Jake hurries back into the house. He approaches Eleanor and lowers his voice ‘Jade is… she is fine. Just a little shaken up.”

Eleanor scoffs. “Of course she is fine. She orchestrated the entire thing!”

Jake freezes. Damn it. Grandma is furious. This is going to be difficult. “Grandma, Jade isn’ that kind of person-”

Before he can finish, Eleanor’s sharp glare cuts him off. Jake swallows hard, suddenly at a loss for words.

Sensing the danger, Deanna grabs her son’s arm and whispers, “Jake, drop it…” Arguing with
