Aunt Kellen’s furious shout instantly freezes the air in the hospital room.

Charles’s face turns livid, his voice trembling with rage. “Kellen, what kind of attitude is this? We are all doing this for your own good!”

Kellen scoffs, a feverish, sickly flush spreading across her pale cheeks. “For my own good? You’re clearly trying to use my illness to force Tara into giving up her shares! Let me tell you, right now-I’d rather die than let you get what you want!”

She has finally given up all hope for this family. To think her own flesh and blood could be so heartless.

Seeing the standoff, Mrs. Dennis speaks up with a cold expression. “Kellen, don’t get so worked up. You’re still sick, remember?”

Jake’s expression is equally grim. He grabs Jade’s arm just as she opens her mouth to interject. “Let’s go. Aunt Kellen’s emotions are unstable right now. We’ll talk when she calms down.”

The Dennis family begrudgingly exits the ward.

Out in the hallway, Charles grits his teeth and snarls, “Tara is completely out of control!”

“Dad, don’t worry,” Jake says, a ruthless glint flashing in his eyes. “Didn’t she claim she could get Dr. T to do the surgery? I’d like to see her pull this mystery doctor out of thin air.”

When she inevitably fails, the humiliation will crush her. Jake is confident that Tara will eventually cave. The stubborn brat only responds to hard lessons.

Meanwhile, Tara strides toward the elevator and dials Danny’s number.

“Danny, I might need a favor,” she says the moment he picks up, skipping the pleasantries.

“What is it?” his deep voice rumbles through the speaker.

“My aunt is at your hospital and needs emergency surgery. I need to borrow an operating room and a medical team right now.”

A few seconds of silence follow. “Are you operating on her yourself?”

“Yes, I’ll be the lead surgeon. I can’t let anything happen to her,” Tara replies.

She holds a secret identity-she is the elusive Dr. T. The fact that the Dennis family tried to use that against her is downright laughable. However, now isn’t the time to expose herself. Even if she told them the truth, they would just call her a lunatic.

“Alright. I’ll make the arrangements,” Danny says. He knows what Tara is capable of, and he already has his suspicions about her true identity.
