The Scorned Heiress: No More Mercy novel Chapter 846

Since they are the only two in the breakroom, Bianca grows even bolder, laying her cards on the table. “I was just testing you! I wanted to see if you'd actually miss it if I stopped initiating, if I stopped flirting with you. And the facts speak for themselves—you totally missed it, didn't you?”

She sets her mug down and casually loops her arm through his, flashing a perfect, blinding smile. “Well? Did it sting a little? I was just playing around. I'm still just as obsessed with you as ever.” She pokes him lightly in the center of his chest.

“Don't flatter yourself. I didn't feel anything,” Coen says. A fleeting look of helplessness crosses his eyes before his face settles back into a stoic mask. He reaches up and smoothly pries her hands off his arm.

“You definitely thought I was giving up on you because I ruined your date the other day, right?” Undeterred, Bianca immediately latches right back onto him, her smile bright enough to rival the sun. “Don't worry, I'm not mad at all. Because I'm going on a blind date, too.”

At her words, a flicker of an unreadable emotion passes over Coen's normally impassive face. Bianca doesn't catch it. She is too busy reveling in the memory of his disastrous dinner. Knowing things ended badly for his previous setup brings her immense joy.

“And it's not just me. You're going on another blind date too,” Bianca purrs, her fingers idly tracing circles on his chest. She drags out her words dramatically. “Because the date... is with me.”

Bianca, who is currently hanging off his neck like a koala to eavesdrop on the call, finally feels a twinge of embarrassment. “Ahem. That was an accident,” she lies, quickly untangling herself. She recovers instantly, puffing out her chest. “I heard it was your mom, and I knew it had to be about our date, so I obviously had to listen.”

She reaches out and grabs his hand again, swinging it lightly between them. “You know, I don't know what it is, but I feel like we've known each other forever. Holding your hand feels so natural, like I've done it a million times before. I promise, I've never held any other guy like this.” Bianca means every word. Her natural optimism makes her completely transparent; she sees no reason to hide how she feels.
