At least Luke is useful for something.
Luke nods knowingly, waving a hand to tell Coen to relax. He turns his attention back to the matter at hand. “Danny wants to give his girl a massive surprise. Got any brilliant ideas?”
“You're asking a single guy to help you plan a romantic surprise?” Coen arches an eyebrow, giving him a deeply unamused look.
“Not for long, you won't be,” Danny shoots back with a smirk.
Coen just stares at him.
Luke clears his throat, launching into his first pitch. “I was checking out the new Celestial Art Museum on the west side. They have this massive holographic theater. Picture this: we customize an entire galaxy. We light up the brightest stars in the room to map out Tara's birthday and the exact date you two met, all playing out while your pre-recorded confession echoes through the speakers...”
Coen taps his fingers against the table, cutting him off. “Holograms are played out. The Lindley Group just used the exact same setup for their daughter's birthday last month.”
Danny nods in agreement. “Plus, the museum is too public. If the paparazzi catch wind of it, it's going to turn into a circus.”
Luke groans, running a hand through his hair. “Well, what do you want to do then? We can't just rent out an entire amusement park and launch fireworks like a bunch of cliché billionaires.”
The comment makes Danny sit up slightly straighter. A memory sparks in his mind. Just a few days ago, he'd heard Tara muttering around the house about wanting to visit the new Firefly Sanctuary on the outskirts of the city. She had been too slammed with work to go. The fireflies he had caught for her during their last camping trip were long gone, preserved as a little memento.
