Chapter 89

Chapter 89

All eyes snap to the door as Tara steps into the room. She radiates an effortless, commanding presence, her expression calm but laced with absolute ice.

Dressed simply in a crisp white button-down and tailored jeans, her dark hair tied back effortlessly, she looks pristine-a jarring contrast to the heavy, dramatic tension suffocating the hospital room.

Seeing her stroll in so confidently sends the entire room into a blinding rage.

How dare she act so arrogant after orchestrating something so vile? They were just discussing how to destroy her, and she actually has the nerve to walk right into the lion’s den?

The moment Mrs. Dennis spots her, she lunges forward, raising a hand to strike her across the face. “You vicious little psycho! You actually dare to show your face?”

Why did she bring such a nightmare into the world, a daughter who does nothing but terrorize her own flesh and blood.

Tara smoothly dodges the strike, her voice dropping to a freezing register. “Mrs. Dennis, before you start swinging, I suggest you get your facts straight.”

Missing her target only fuels Mrs. Dennis’s fury. “Facts? Jade just told us you paid those animals to attack her! Are you still trying to lie your way out of this?”

“And you all just blindly believe her?” Tara asks, her gaze sweeping over the room with cynical amusement.

She shouldn’t be surprised. This family has always been completely blind. They genuinely believe Jade is a pure, gentle angel incapable of manipulation. In their eyes, Tara will always

be the devious villain.

Mr. Dennis steps forward, his voice booming with authority. “Tara, Jade has a heart of gold! If we don’t believe her, are we supposed to believe you?”

Evan glares at her, his disgust palpable. “Tara, you are completely irredeemable.”

Exactly as she expected.

Jake remains silent, his brow heavily furrowed as he scrutinizes Tara, searching for a crack in her armor.

Tara lets out a sharp scoff, locking eyes with the pathetic figure trembling on the hospital bed. “So, Jade, did you claim I hired those men to assault you?”

She has to applaud Jade’s sheer audacity to completely flip the script. It is time to brutally rip off this manipulative girl’s mask once and for all.

Jade shrinks under Tara’s piercing stare, instinctively gripping the bedsheets. “Tara… I know you hate me, but… but I really don’t know what I did to deserve this…” she chokes out,

sobbing pitifully.

Her flawless damsel-in-distress act instantly triggers Mrs. Dennis and Evan’s protective instincts.

Mrs. Dennis points a trembling finger at Tara. “Are you threatening her right in front of us? You monster!”

Evan takes a protective step toward the bed. “Tara, apologize to Jade right now, or I swear I won’t hold back!”

Tara laughs, a cold, mocking sound. “Hold back? Evan, when have you ever held back when it comes to me?”

Done playing their tedious games, Tara reaches into her designer bag, pulls out her phone, and taps the screen.

A crystal-clear audio recording fills the dead silence of the VIP ward.

“You work for Shane! You’re supposed to kidnap Tara! I’m the one who paid you! How can you do this to me…”
