Chapter 114
Natalie glanced at Evan without saying anything. She just bent down and reached out to ruffle Toast’s
head.
Toast immediately closed its eyes in bliss, letting out a soft purr as it nuzzled her hand.
Evan was lost for words.
He suddenly thought, ‘Man, I’m such a failure as a pet owner‘
Evan called out, “Toast, get up.”
He tried to sound commanding, but it came out more like a plea.
Toast ignored him, blissfully nuzzling Natalie’s hand, not budging an inch.
Evan was lost for words.
Natalie couldn’t help but smile at Toast’s adorable antics, then straightened up.
“Alright, get up,” she said gently.
Toast immediately stood up, trotted around her twice, and then sat down obediently, as if afraid of getting her clothes dirty.
Evan watched the whole thing, feeling a bit salty.
“Why does it listen to you so well? I’m the one who feeds it, walks it, and gives it baths every single day! It never acts this cute with me,” he grumbled.
Natalie shot him a teasing look. “Maybe it just likes humans better, so it can’t be bothered with its own kind.”
Evan froze for a second, then his eyes nearly popped out.
“Its own kind? You’re saying I’m its own kind?!”
Right on cue, Toast barked, its tail wagging even harder, as if to say, “Exactly!”
Evan pointed at Toast, then at himself, looking utterly incredulous.
“Me? With it? The same kind?!” he blurted out.
Natalie just smiled and shrugged. “I never said that.”
She pressed the key fob, and the headlights of the black G–Wagon next to them flashed.
Evan pouted, dropping the previous topic. “Are you heading out?”
“Yeah.”
“Where are you going? If you’re going out for fun, bring me along!” Evan said, looking at Natalie with

He watched Natalie, eyes full of hope.
“An auction,” Natalie replied.
n’s eyes lit up. “Is it the World–Class Auction House event?”
paused for a second, then nodded. “Yeah.”

night. I’ve got something important to do,” he said.
Now she was stuck between the two cars, sandwiched like the cream in an Oreo.
Natalie arched an eyebrow.
‘Are they doing this on purpose?‘ she thought.
The two cars, one on each side, were tailing Natalie so close it was suffocating, like a pair of pesky flies.

refusing to let her go.
The red Porsche’s roof slid back, and a curly–haired guy popped up, whistling at her.
others
“Hey, gorgeous, out here all by yourself? Nice moves. You managed not to crash just now,” he called out
His tone was playful, laced with mockery and challenge.
Natalie turned her head to look at him, her eyes icy cold.
The wind blew her bangs, and just one look from her left the guys in the Porsche completely floored.
Earlier, when they turned the corner, they spotted through the half–open window that the driver was a girl in a G–Wagon, so they figured they’d mess with her.
But now that they got a good look… damn, they hadn’t expected her to be this gorgeous!
Natalie smirked, her face totally blank, one hand on the wheel as she grabbed a bottle of soda from the passenger seat. Without hesitation, she aimed it at them and squirted.
The curly–haired guy saw her reaching for something and thought she was about to pull out her phone to add him on WhatsApp. But when he saw the soda, he was stunned for a moment.
He hesitated, then figured she was offering him a drink to make friends, so he started to reach out for it…
And the very next second, Natalie squirted the soda right in his face!
“Whoa, what the…?!”
The curly–haired guy got sprayed right in the face, shrieking as he jerked away, frantically wiping his face with both hands.
“What the hell is this? Are you nuts, spraying me like that?!”
The red Porsche swerved out of control, the steering wheel twisting as it nearly crashed into the bushes
The guys in the Mercedes were totally baffled. Before they could even process what happened to the Porsche, the window of the G–Wagon rolled down, and Natalie aimed that soda bottle right at them.
“Shhh-”
Another blast of soda sprayed their way.
The Mercedes driver instinctively threw up his hand to block his face, and in the chaos, the steering wheel jerked, making the two cars squeeze together with a harsh scraping sound.
