Chapter 154 It’s Her

Chapter 154 It’s Her

No one knew when they’d shown up. They just stood there, not saying a word, not even cracking a smile, their eyes, sweeping over everyone on the training ground.

The entire training ground fell silent.

It wasn’t a silence out of fear. It was a silence pressed down by sheer authority.

These people didn’t need to say a word. Their presence alone commanded respect, and it was the stars on their shoulders that spoke for them.

Every star was earned through decades of service, every rank forged in countless missions, endless drills, and clawing the way back from the brink of death time after time.

They walked over, not too fast, not too slow, just cool and steady, like they owned the place.

Natalie glanced at the guy in the dark brown suit, raising her brows a little.

Henry spotted her too, and for a split second, his calm expression flickered with surprise. He hadn’t expected to see her here.

‘This is a top-secret military training camp. What the hell is she doing here?’ he thought, bewildered.

Earlier, when he’d caught a glimpse of that figure with her hair in a ponytail and her back ramrod straight, he’d honestly thought his eyes were playing tricks on him.

Henry squinted for a few seconds, watching that figure in dark green standing dead center on the training ground, holding a gun one-handed, her arm perfectly steady and straight.

Five shots, five holes, and a perfect fifty points.

He watched as she set the gun down on the table and turned around, revealing the face that haunted his dreams.

‘My eyes weren’t playing tricks on me. It really is her, Henry thought.

Everyone nodded in unison. “Commander!”

Liam’s gaze swept the crowd, finally settling on Natalie. He noticed she was looking at someone behind him.

He turned to follow her gaze, and caught Henry staring right back at her.

Liam looked back and forth between them. “So… you two know each other?”

Natalie pulled her gaze away and replied softly, “Mm.”

Henry’s lips involuntarily curled up at her soft reply, his dark eyes fixed on the girl. “Yeah, we know each other.”

Ever since the last family reunion, he hadn’t heard a single word from her for days. He’d been restless and irritable right up until he walked into this place.

These past few days in Harbor City, he’d been all kinds of frustrated. Every time he tried to call her, her phone was off, and his messages got no reply at all. No matter how hard he searched, there was just no trace of her anywhere.

Right around then, the military reached out to the Pierce Group, their investor, to come inspect the new batch of equipment for the training camp..

It was a yearly routine, but Henry had always turned it down before. This year, though, with his mind in turmoil, he agreed on a whim, figuring it might help him clear his head.

He never would’ve guessed that the one who’d been on his mind 24/7 in Harbor City would turn out to be right here. ‘Guess fate just keeps throwing us together, he thought.

Everyone here knew Henry, Summerset’s top tycoon, head of the Pierce family, the guy who basically runs over half the country’s military industry.

People had always heard he had insane pull in both the military and government, but seeing him show up at a training camp so secret even GPS couldn’t find it? That made a bunch of people secretly gasp.

He wasn’t military, no stars on his shoulders, but wherever he went, even the guys loaded with stars made way for him. It wasn’t rank that made people step aside. It was pure power.

The kind of power that didn’t need to be part of the system, but the system still had to step aside for him.

And from what we just saw, Natalie actually kno Successfully unlocked! Henry’s expression, there’s clearly more to their

relationship than just being acquaintances.

They’d all thought she was just some well-connected heiress from Harbor City. Turns out, they’d underestimated not only

her abilities, but her connections as well.

Liam glanced at Henry, who’d been scowling the whole time, and now, suddenly, he was actually smiling. That’s when Liam knew right away this wasn’t just some ordinary situation.

He just raised an eyebrow and kept quiet.

He turned to face the seven or eight officers, his voice quiet but carried across the whole field so everyone could hear him clearly.

“Since this is your first time meeting her, let me introduce Natalie. she’s the chief instructor of this training camp.”

As soon as he said that, it was like someone pressed pause on the whole training ground, the air just froze.

Every single trainee whipped their heads toward Natalie, eyes wide as saucers, jaws dropped so hard it looked like they might never close again.

‘Chief instructor?

‘Natalie’s the chief instructor?

‘Did we hear that right?

‘The one everyone whispered about, the ruthless, hardcore chief instructor whose training was so strict, just the mere mention of her name made previous batches go weak in the knees?

‘So the chief instructor we’ve been waiting for since day one… was right here with us the whole time? She trained with us, ate with us, even shared the bathroom with us…

‘Damn… those earlier trainees really knew how to keep a secret!

‘No wonder they said there’d be a surprise when we got here!

‘Surprise? This is more like a scare!’

“Ch-ch-ch-Chief Instructor…?” someone stammered, their voice so shaky it sounded like they were stepping on cotton. No one even knew who spoke first. the words just floated out, shaky and unsure.

Everyone stared at her back, swallowing hard. ‘Is she serious? This really isn’t a joke, right?’

‘We’re so dead. Hahaha…’

“Are you serious… wasn’t she just here for the glory?”

“Glory? Please, she’s here to forge us into steel.”

“Crap, I badmouthed her before, said she was arrogant and didn’t care about anyone…”

“I cut in front of her in line once.”

“I even threw mud at her.”

“I even took her climbing rope.”

One after another, the voices got quieter and quieter, until it was dead silent.

They all remembered the times they’d tried to mess with her, and it finally dawned on them. She wasn’t easy to bully, she just didn’t care enough to bother with them.

It wasn’t because she was nice. She was just biding her time, waiting for them to slip up!

Out of everyone, Kelly freaked out the most. ‘Wait, I actually spent a whole week living under the same roof as the devil chief instructor?

‘Damn!

‘All the stuff I shouldn’t have said, I said it. I’m doomed…’

Blondie was standing in the crowd, watching everyone’s faces. He could barely keep himself from cracking up.

He’d been biting his tongue for a whole week, just waiting to see the show on their faces now!

“Chief Instructor?”

An old guy with gray hair and a Major General’s stars on his shoulders spoke up. His voice wasn’t loud, but you could hear the shock all over it.

When he saw Natalie hit a perfect score from 300 feet standing, he’d figured she was just the top student in this batch, maybe, at most, an assistant instructor.

‘But the chief instructor?’ he thought, completely floored.
