“You think that makes you impressive?” Winter bit back the urge to curse him out and said with open sarcasm, Why stop at shutting me up? Why don’t you just blow my mouth off while you’re at it?”
She knew Chris was crazy enough to do just about anything.
He listened to her exaggerated tone and knew exactly what she was doing. She was trying to steer his attention somewhere else, thinking she was being clever, when in reality he saw straight through her.
She was wrapped tightly in the blanket, with even her long hair tucked inside it, leaving only her pale, makeup- free face exposed.

As the helicopter cut across the night sky over Liono City, moonlight streamed through the cabin window and fell across her delicate features, softening them in a faint, misty glow.
There was something almost unreal about her like that.
Especially now, with that mocking tone in her voice and those slightly upturned eyes glaring at him, she had a sharp, vivid kind of beauty that made it hard to look away.
“What would be the point of blowing it off?” he said, staring at her lips as some of the color slowly returned to
them.
Winter didn’t want to waste another word on him, so she turned her head away. But Chris caught her by the chin and turned her back to face him. His eyes swept over her face, then stopped at her tired, reddened eyes.
“Aren’t you going to sleep?”
He kept pushing her, again and again, until the words slipped out before she could stop them.
“Go to hell.”
Something dark shifted in his eyes.
Then he lowered his head and kissed her.
Winter recoiled instantly and shoved at him, struggling to get away. She even kicked at him, furious and short of breath, until he finally released her.
The moment he did, she slapped him hard across the face.
