The Scorned Heiress's Hidden Empire (by Jade Quinn) novel Chapter 384

Chapter 384

“What are you reading?”

A low, magnetic voice interrupted Winter’s thoughts. She came back to herself and saw Sean walking out of the dressing room. She quickly stood.

“Sean.”

Only then did Winter realize how lost in thought she had been. The roasted sweet potato she had casually set on the table had fallen to the floor.

She quickly pulled out two tissues, but just as she bent down, Sean had already picked up the cooled sweet potato and wiped the crumbs off the floor. Then he threw everything into the trash.

Winter felt a little embarrassed. “Thank you.”

Sean gave a faint hum and left the building.

A little while later, William came out. He had changed into a blue tracksuit, looking every bit like a bright, athletic college student.

“Sean left?”

“He just left.” Winter touched the back of his hand and found it a little cold. “Do you need a heat patch?”

His tracksuit was too thin.

If he went out to the ski resort dressed like that for photos, he would definitely catch a cold.

But she wasn’t sure whether heat patches would affect the shoot.

William walked over to Winter, thinking about what Sean had said to him.

He lowered his head and looked at Winter as she took a heat patch from her bag.

To say he didn’t want her at all would be lying to himself.

But if he asked himself whether he truly wanted to possess her, the answer wasn’t exactly yes either.

His feelings for Winter were strange and complicated. After so many years, he had probably already accepted the way things were.

“Do you want one or not?” Winter suddenly raised her voice.

William jumped a little, and the complicated emotions Sean had stirred up in him were instantly cut off.

He quickly said, “Yes, yes, yes. Put it on me already. I’m freezing. What kind of assistant are you? I’m docking your pay.”

Winter laughed in exasperation. “I haven’t even seen a penny yet, and you’re already docking my pay? All that Zeller money, and you’re still this cheap?”

She tore open the heat patch package.

Just then, her phone chimed. She pulled it out, glanced at the screen, and froze.

It was a bank notification.
