The Scorned Heiress's Hidden Empire (by Jade Quinn) novel Chapter 398

Chapter 398

They had to hurry.

One of Fabian’s men called toward the rock. “Ms. Scott, we don’t have much time. Hurry up, or you’ll just have to go in your pants.”

Winter ignored him and walked straight behind the large rock.

They all watched her go behind it. She crouched down, with only the edge of her clothing visible. Thin fog covered the mountaintop, and in the darkness, the fabric looked almost black.

Birdcalls sounded from the woods now and then.

she made.

She remembered that Elsa’s grave was somewhere nearby. Elsa and her boyfriend had both been orphans, with no family left behind. After the explosion, the area around the grave had been reduced to rubble.

On one side was a cliff. On another was a steep mountain road blocked by rubble. The only possible way out was through the woods.

The rain wasn’t heavy, but the icy drops fell on her face, sending a chill through her whole body.

Winter moved slowly, one hand braced against the trees, careful not to trip over weeds or vines and make noise.

It came with the snap of dry branches and the scrape of grass being pushed aside.

This was a barren mountain on the outskirts of Liono City. She had never heard of wild animals here, but she
