Chapter 412
Thinking of this, Garrett fixed his sharp, hawk–like gaze on the thick tree across from him.
Chris and Winter were hiding behind it.
When it came to speed with a gun, very few people could match Chris.
But a chance to trap Chris here, even for a short time, was too rare to waste.
At first, Fabian had planned to take Winter with him and send Chris one of her organs day by day, just to
torment him.
But Fabian had changed his mind. He had no patience left to keep playing cat and mouse with Chris.
Chris had shot him on New Year’s Day.
He would make him pay for that.
Behind the tree, after telling Winter to stay hidden, Chris moved fast, slipping behind another tree nearby.
He raised his gun and suddenly fired toward another part of the woods.
Bang!
The bullet cut through the thin curtain of rain and tore through the air.
Rainwater sprayed outward.
The sound disappeared beneath the constant gunfire.
Garrett tightened the cloth wrapped around his wounded arm with his teeth.
Just then, two of Fabian’s men caught up.
“Garrett.”
“You take the left and right,” Garrett said. “I’ll take the middle. We’ll surround Chris.”
Almost the moment Chris fired, Garrett and the two men rushed toward the spot where he had been hadhing
Rain poured down around them.
Garrett stared at the tree and gave a band signal.
The three of them rushed bebind it at the same time and opened tire
Bang!
Bang!
Bang!
But there was no one behind the tree
Chris was gone.

“That’s impossible!” Garrett snapped.
No matter how fast Chris was, he couldn’t have escaped in such a short time, not right under Garrett’s nose.
Unless…

Too fast.
It was a voice identical to his own.
“He may still have explosives on him!” Chris’s cool voice rang out.
But it was too late.
