“Mr. Mitchell had something come up, and he’ll be here soon. This is Miss Natalie Moore, a friend he brought,” Gavin said.
“Miss Moore, this is Ms. Sienna Calloway, the heiress of our equestrian center and the best rider we’ve got,” he added.
Sienna’s gaze landed back on Natalie, still impressed by her, but now with a touch of curiosity and intrigue.
Andrew had never brought a girl to the equestrian center before.
But there was no hostility or jealousy in her eyes, only frank appraisal and a trace of admiration.
Sienna had been riding since childhood. Bold and straightforward by nature, she had never been the type to hide what she felt. If she liked someone, it showed. If she didn’t, she saw no reason to pretend otherwise.
She had never tried to hide her interest in Andrew, even after being turned down. Still, Sienna had too much pride to make
a spectacle of it. Her feelings were hers to deal with, and she had no intention of letting them become anyone else’s
business.
Andrew had always been selective about who he allowed into his world. The fact that he had personally brought Natalie
here, and that even Gavin was treating her with unusual care, was enough to prove that Natalie was far from ordinary.
Sienna couldn’t help feeling curious. ‘What is it about Natalie that catches Andrew’s eye? What does she have that I don’t?‘
“So you’re Mr. Mitchell’s friend,” Sienna said, her smile even brighter than before. “I’m Sienna. Welcome.” She reached out
her hand first.
Natalie shook it, feeling the strength in Sienna’s grip. “Natalie,” she replied. Her simple, direct introduction fit perfectly
with the impression she gave.
“So, have you decided which horse you want?” Sienna asked as she withdrew her hand and looked at the horses.
“Miss Moore has her eye on Onyx…” Gavin said, looking a bit troubled as he glanced at Sienna, clearly hoping she’d say
something.
Sienna glanced over at the horse in the corner and then back at Natalie. “Onyx? You’ve got guts picking that one. Gavin’s right. Onyx’s a tough nut to crack,”
As she spoke, her eyes swept over Natalie’s slender frame, noting the smooth lines of muscle beneath.
“Honestly, in this whole equestrian center, only I and one of the old trainers can sometimes coax it into running a couple of laps, and that’s only if it’s in the mood.”
Her tone was frank and open, touched with a trace of pride as she offered Natalie a well–meant warning.
After hearing that, Natalie glanced over at Onyx in its stall again.
The horse seemed to sense something, turning its head slightly, its calm, dark eyes fixing their gaze on them.
“Sometimes?” Natalie repeated, with no emotion in her voice.

Sienna shrugged, her smile bright and confident. “Yeah, that’s just how spirited horses are. They’ve got a temper. There’s no point in forcing them. It only works if they’re willing,” she said.
“So, Miss Moore, you want to try your luck? Fair warning, Onyx doesn’t care if you’re a guy or a girl. If it kicks or bucks you off, it’s gonna hurt. Falling off stings, trust me.” Her tone was lighthearted, but her gaze was dead serious.
