The Second Chance Of The Rejected Moon (Celine and Bastian) novel Chapter 15

Chapter 15

I look for something with a closed back, something discreet, but the more I look, the more out of place I feel

This is going to be harder than I imagined.

“If you can’t find anything you like, I can show you other options.” The young woman tucks a strand of hair behind her ear while observing me carefully. “Or perhaps your husband would prefer to choose for you. Do you already know what color suit he’ll be wearing to match your dress?”

Bastian turns to look at me with a faint smile and my checks warm when I realize he heard the saleswoman call him “my husband.” I don’t correct her and continue looking through the dresses. It’s not as if this is the first time I’ve seen clothes like these. I’ve seen them, carefully washed them, and put them away inside Anne’s and Luna Beatriz’s enormous closets, I just never imagined I would wear something like them someday.

“He chose a black three-piece suit. Shall I show you black options, miss?”

I nod and follow her through the long illuminated aisles.

But every dress she shows me is either too revealing or excessively glittery.

“Something with a closed back and not too much cleavage.” Embarrassment washes over me completely as I lower my gaze “I’m looking for something elegant, but simple.”

The young woman immediately nods and takes a long dress with closed sleeves and a modest neckline. I smile faintly when she removes it from the hanger, but a large hand covered in rings passes right beside mine.

“This one would look very good on you, sweetheart.”

Bastian Bastian appears beside me holding another dress.

It is black, long, and elegant. Delicate silver threads run across the transparent fabric on the back, sleeves, and hem, forming small floral patterns.

“It matches your hair.” His dark gaze lowers slightly toward me. “You can try it on and, if you don’t like it, I also like the one you chose.”

The girl smiles immediately.

“Excellent choice, sir.”

She takes both dresses and, only because Bastian chose the first one, I decide to try that one on before the other.

When I see myself in the mirror inside the fitting room. I swallow hard.

It fits my body perfectly without looking vulgar. The soft fabric hugs my curves delicately and the silver embroidery across the back almost completely covers the old scars on my skin.

For the first time in a very long time, I don’t feel the urge to hide.

I don’t even try on the other dress. The silver threads truly match my light hair and the pale tone of my skin.

When I step out of the fitting room, Bastian and Jared are already wearing their suits.

Bastian is dressed entirely in black. The dark jacket accentuates the width of his shoulders and the silver watch on his wrist stands out even more against his elegant clothes. Jared, on the other hand, is wearing a dark blue suit with a white shirt that makes his light eyes stand out.

Mon, Aug

The Second Chance Of The Rejected Moon

Both of them look very good.

Though Bastian looks like he walked straight out of some ridiculous magazine for rich and dangerous men. Insufferable genetic creature

His eyes slowly travel over my body and something dark and satisfied crosses his expression

“If you have fifteen minutes, I can help you with your makeup and hair.”

Bastian nods before I can answer and the young woman guides me toward a small illuminated room

The floral perfume in the place fills the air.

“You may sit here, Luna Celine.”

The word makes me tense slightly.

I take a seat in front of the enormous mirror while she begins working on my hair.

“It’s an honor for me to help you tonight, Luna Celine.”

I lift my gaze toward the mirror and notice how her eyes slowly shift from green to gold.

She is a she-wolf.

“Thank you.”

“Don’t worry, Luna Celine.” She smiles softly while adjusting a few strands of my hair. “I’ll do everything possible to make you look even more beautiful tonight.”

She gathers part of my hair, leaving soft waves falling down my back, and applies my makeup with speed and precision. Her movements are delicate and skilled.

When she finishes, two soft knocks on the door make us both turn around.

The woman who was previously at the counter enters carrying three dark velvet boxes.

She places them on the table and, when she opens them in front of me, the air leaves my lungs.

Diamonds.

A delicate necklace, sparkling earrings, and a beautiful ring reflect the mirror’s light.

“Your husband chose these for you.”

My cheeks warm again, but this time I say nothing.

When the woman leaves and the two of us are alone again, the young she wolf carefully helps me put on the jewelry.

The necklace is heavier than I imagined.

And when I finally look at my reflection again, I go completely still.

I have never seen myself like this.
