Chapter 150
Silas’s wolf takes a step forward. Magnus and Alaric growl at him again, trying to stop him, but he ignores them completely. He’s the oldest of the three and also the most imposing. His massive body casts a shadow over me as he approaches with a calmness far more intimidating than any charge or threat. Each step sinks slightly into the damp earth, and the powerful Alpha aura radiating from him seems to crush the air around us.
“Grandpa… please.”
My voice barely escapes my throat. Slowly, I kneel on the grass and rest my open hands on my thighs, making it clear tha have no intention of resisting.
“I’m Celine… your granddaughter. And here…” I lower my gaze to my swollen belly as tears begin to blur my vision. “…is Bastian’s son.”
Silas keeps walking until he stops directly in front of me. My heart pounds so violently against my chest that I can barely breathe. I close my eyes, and a second later I feel the cool, damp touch of his nose against the skin of my belly. He draws in my scent once… then again, completely unhurried, as though confirming something only he can sense. A sob escapes my throat, and, overcoming my fear, I slowly raise one hand to stroke the thick black fur along his neck.
I never get the chance.
Strong arms suddenly wrap around me, pulling me tightly against a familiar chest. I cling to him with the same desperation I’ve carried for more than a year, burying my face against him, unable to hold back my tears.
Goddess…
I missed him so much.
“You came home, little one.” His voice rumbles beside my ear as he continues holding me tightly. “We thought you were dead… and now you’ve come back carrying my grandson’s child. Where have you been?”
Little by little, the tension begins to fade. Behind me, the two thousand soldiers, the princes, and the kings lower their guard as they realize there won’t be a fight. Silas finally loosens his embrace, and we pull back just enough to look at each other. Then I lift my eyes.
Magnus is no longer in his wolf form.
He stands motionless in front of us, his fists clenched at his sides, his eyes fixed on me. His face, always so stern, no longer seems capable of holding on to its usual hardness.
“Dad…” I whisper.
I let go of Silas and try to stand with his help so I can go to Magnus, but a nearby explosion shakes the ground beneath our feet. Before I can react, Bastian’s father sweeps me into his arms and takes off running toward the castle’s rear entrance without giving me a chance to protest.
“You may come in. Just don’t eat my staff.”
His voice carries through the air without breaking stride. I hear Silas’s and Alaric’s footsteps close behind us, along with the orderly advance of the army I brought from the human world. The synchronized rhythm of hundreds of boots striking the stone floor blends with the rustle of tactical uniforms, the sharp snap of equipment straps against armored vests, and the metallic sway of the weapons strapped across their backs. The quiet voices of those relaying orders fill the corridors as the enormous column advances with flawless discipline. Even so, I recognize every corner. The long stone hallways. The shortcuts leading to the great hall. The bend that opens onto the main staircase. The towering windows where the afternoon sunlight pours through. Then it happens.
Bastian’s scent fills the second floor with the same familiar intensity as always, and my heart races until it hurts.

I’m so close to him that, for a moment, I forget the explosion, the army, the hybrids, Avalon, and everything that’s happened.
Only he exists.
Magnus gently sets me back on my feet and places both hands on my shoulders before I can run.
“Bastian isn’t alone. Since you left, Nadia has been taking care of him.”
Something dark awakens inside me. I try to hold it back. I truly do. But I can’t. Astra roars with a fury I haven’t felt in a long time, and her rage merges with mine until they’re one and the same. I shove my father-in-law aside with a sharp movement and throw the bedroom doors open.
Time stops.
My eyes find Bastian immediately.
He’s still motionless.
Still as beautiful as the day Johan forced me to leave him behind in that abandoned house before taking me away. For three months I did nothing but fight to come back. I endured beatings, a laboratory where I was treated like nothing more than an experiment, needles piercing my skin again and again to steal my blood, waking up alone in Montana with no memories, crossing half the world searching for answers, finding my way to Valeria’s house, traveling to Avalon, enduring one pointless ritual after another performed by the priestesses, recovering my memories on my own, witnessing a past I was never meant to see, carrying the weight of Legion’s swords, meeting people who owed me nothing yet chose to help me, crossing another portal to return to Lemuria, facing three wolves ready to tear apart anyone who approached the castle… and still I kept going because I thought of only one thing: coming back to him, giving him Larissa’s potion, and never leaving his side until I saw him open his eyes.
And when I finally walk through the door to our bedroom… I see her.
