Chapter 161
“You attacked me,” the prince growls, taking a step toward him.
Johan nods.

“You would have killed me if I hadn’t. But if you interrupt me again, you won’t find out what happened afterward.”
“Continue.”
All three pairs of eyes are fixed on Johan.
No one says a word, and he continues with his story.
“I had to take her to the Order’s laboratories, and they were going to experiment on Celine’s blood. I had no choice but to obey. They knew where my family was and threatened to kill them. When I saw Celine for the first time, I knew. I felt it, and… well, she was smarter than I was. She said she would come with me willingly if I didn’t hurt you, that she would cooperate. In exchange, I had to take her to her father and brother after she gave them her blood, people who had never been in the human world. Her stepmother and half-sister lied to her. They told her…”
“I remember that. Celine asked me to go with her and follow them because they told her that her father was very sick. It was a trap from the beginning.”
Johan nods.
“Celine made a blood pact with me, and if I didn’t keep my end of the deal, she would obviously die. I had to take her there and let them take some of her blood, then take her to the Dark Forest, where her father and brother were supposedly waiting for her. But I took her to the Black Moon Pack instead, because I knew my mother and my brother were there, and I knew they would help her.”
Johan pauses briefly and stares at the fire in the fireplace. The flames reflect in his eyes as, for a few seconds, he seems to decide how much more he is willing to reveal. His brother doesn’t take his eyes off him for a single moment, as though he is still trying to understand when Johan stopped being the man he knew and became someone capable of forming a bond with Celine. Magnus, on the other hand, looks more exhausted than ever. His expression remains serious, but exhaustion has settled into his features, and his shoulders remain heavy. His daughter-in-law, whom he considers a daughter, has been through too much far from Lemuria, and he has just discovered that much of that time she was suffering while everyone here believed she was still safe.
“She was in the laboratory for two months. They didn’t want to let her go. Her blood ran out quickly whenever the experiments failed, so I took advantage of a moment when they were distracted, opened a portal, got her out of there, and took her to the pack.”
His words leave an uncomfortable silence in the room. Bastian remains motionless, his eyes fixed on Johan, while Magnus lowers his gaze for a moment, processing the full weight of what he has just heard.
“Two months, son… that means a year here in Lemuria,” the king says.
Bastian frowns. His expression slowly changes as he tries to make his father’s words fit with the memories he

has. To him, everything happened in an instant. He closed his eyes, and when he opened them again, Celine was there, wounded, pregnant, and surrounded by people he didn’t recognize. But now he is beginning to understand that the world kept moving while he remained unconscious in that bed.
“What happened afterward?” This time, Vlad asks the question.
Johan turns his gaze away from the fire and faces his brother again.
“When I returned, they tortured me. They demanded Celine’s exact location, and I almost died. But Mother found me and took me with her. The girl with the blue eyes helped me. She made me change. I was going to die, brother, and I couldn’t let that happen, not after I had found her.”
Vlad slowly shakes his head. The expression on his face changes as he hears this, as though he has just confirmed a suspicion he has been holding onto for far too long.
“I knew it,” he whispers.
Bastian looks at both of them without understanding what they are recognizing in each other. His patience is beginning to wear thin, but this time there is no fury in his expression. Instead, there is an increasingly desperate need to recover the time that was stolen from him.
“I don’t understand what the two of you are talking about. I just want to know how much time actually passed since that day.”
Bastian appears calmer on the outside, but inside, Johan’s words are beginning to fall into place. There are still things he doesn’t understand, but his wolf seems to recognize them before he does. Something inside him has remained alert since Johan entered the room, as though part of him knows exactly what it means to have him this close.
“I came here after I changed because I had a vision of her injured. I couldn’t stay in Avalon without knowing how she was.”
“Why would you have a vision of my mate? She and you…”
