Chapter 46
Author’s POV
The situation in the Blood Moon Pack spiraled completely out of control from the moment the prince revealed Celine’s true identity.
The young woman who for years had been treated as nothing more than a servant in the pack house, that quiet girl whom almost no one noticed and with whom practically no one socialized, was actually the daughter of Alpha Darius Miller and Juliet Carlwel, Darius’s Luna, who had died during childbirth.
The news hit the population like an impossible-to-ignore bomb and, within hours, the entire territory was talking about the same thing. It didn’t matter whether they were warriors, merchants, elders, or ordinary pack members. Everyone had a different opinion, and everyone wanted answers.
The prince imprisoned the entire Miller family while deciding what punishment they deserved for years of lies and abuse toward his mate. Then he took Celine away with him after publicly declaring that she was his fated mate and would soon become his queen. Yes, everything had turned into a monumental disaster in a very short time.
The population was furious.
For years they had lived alongside that young woman without knowing the truth. They had seen her working in the pack house, watched her avoid drawing attention to herself, and disappear from crowded places without anyone asking too many questions as to why. Now they were discovering that she was not only the legitimate daughter of their former Alpha and his deceased Luna, but that she had also been deliberately hidden by her own family and passed off as dead.
And that was only the beginning.
The story became even darker when details that no one expected to hear began coming to light. Rumors grew, different versions multiplied, and testimonies started spreading from mouth to mouth until it became impossible to contain them. The worst part came when it was discovered that the council of elders knew much of what had been happening inside the pack house.
They knew who Celine was, they knew how she lived, how she was treated, and what happened inside the residence when no one else was watching. They had known for years and, even so, they chose to remain silent, look the other way, and pretend that nothing was happening.
That revelation sparked a new wave of outrage. Many pack members could accept that a family had hidden secrets for years, but it was much harder for them to accept that the men responsible for safeguarding everyone’s well-being had stood by doing nothing while a child grew up under those conditions.
The pack remembered Juliet Carlson, the Alpha’s wife. They genuinely cared about their Luna and remembered her heart, her selfless kindness, and the dedication she devoted to the pack and her duties. That was why learning that the Alpha had hidden and mistreated Celine because he blamed her for her mother’s death felt painful and cruel.
They had mourned Juliet and her little daughter, and the grief had lasted for years.
In the eyes of a large portion of the population, the elders were just as guilty as the Miller family themselves.
Meanwhile, the prison cells remained closed, the prince remained silent about the punishment he intended to impose, and uncertainty began spreading throughout the territory. No one knew what would happen to the Millers, no one knew what would happen to the council, and no one knew how much more remained to be discovered about a story that, with each passing day, seemed to be hiding a new layer of filth beneath the last.
When Alpha Tanner Blackwood took temporary control of the Blood Moon Pack under direct orders from Prince Bastian Thorn, he was finally able to breathe normally. Alpha Darius Miller had not only been negligent toward the pack for years.

Both of them had managed the territory thinking only of their own wealth and comfort, depriving the population of necessary resources while accumulating benefits for themselves. The more he reviewed the financial records, the more evident it became that many of the current problems were not the result of bad luck, but of years of poor decisions. favoritism, and corruption.
The last few days had beeft exhausting for everyone.
The fall of the Miller family had left an enormous power vacuum. The pack demanded answers, the elders were trying to save their reputation, and each day brought new problems that required immediate attention.
Tanner barely slept a few hours before locking himself away once again among reports, meetings, and pending documents. However, whenever he found a moment of solitude, his mind always returned to the same place.
Celine.
