The Second Chance Of The Rejected Moon (Celine and Bastian) novel Chapter 50

Chapter 50

Christian let out a harsh laugh that echoed off the cell walls. Several warriors exchanged mocking glances as they watched the Miller family desperately cling to a hope that no longer existed

“Celine gave the property to an old friend of my mother’s. The prince himself ordered the property to be walled off so you wouldn’t be able to enter. The moment you set foot near it, the guards will execute you. What part of banished from the pack do you not understand? The cabin is inside the territory You are leaving, and you should be grateful you are not being branded as rogue wolves.”

The little color that remained in Beatriz’s face disappeared completely, and her lips parted in disbelief while her finger tightened around the sleeves of her coat. Anne opened her mouth to protest, but no words came out. The arrogant confidence she had always displayed seemed to crack for the first time. Cassius simply clenched his teeth as a mixture of rage and desperation hardened his features, making the muscles in his jaw stand out beneath his skin.

Christian no longer felt like listening to them. The stench of the cell mixed with the smell of dampness, fear, and that family’s endless excuses was becoming unbearable. With a sharp movement, he opened the bars, and the metallic screech echoed throughout the room.

“You have only five minutes to collect your belongings from your rooms. After that, you will be escorted out of pack territory.” He stepped aside to let them pass while crossing his arms over his chest. “If I were you, I’d hurry.”

His red eyes slowly swept across each of their faces.

“Time starts now.”

“If she gave the property to someone else, where is my daughter now?”

Darius’s question filled Christian with anger. A smile loaded with contempt appeared on his face as he looked at the man who had ignored every one of Celine’s sufferings for years.

“Now she’s your daughter?” he mocked with disgust. You only have three minutes left.”

The Miller family wasted no time and practically ran out of the cell to climb the stairs toward the Alpha residence. Their footsteps echoed against the stone with desperate urgency as they tried to salvage whatever remained of the comfortable life they were about to lose.

Anne was the first to reach her room. She opened one of her largest suitcases and began throwing in warm clothing, her best shoes, and every piece of jewelry she found in the drawers. She also packed the deeds to properties she had purchased in the human city, her phone, charger, and laptop. Her movements were quick and rough, almost frantic, as she checked over and over again to make sure she was not leaving anything valuable behind. She was young and spoiled, but not stupid.

She had always wanted more than what others had, and she understood perfectly well that the Miller name was worthless now if they had no money left to support the lifestyle she was accustomed to.

When she finished, she stepped into the hallway and ran toward Cassius’s room. Her brother was doing exactly the same thing. The drawers stood open, clothes covered the bed, and valuable items were disappearing into a dark suitcase. Watches, electronic devices, hidden cash, and anything that could be sold ended up inside without any real order. Neither of them wasted time talking.

One glance was enough for them to understand the severity of the situation before closing their suitcases and heading together toward the main staircase.

Meanwhile. Darius and Beatriz did not even bother checking most of their belongings. Both went straight to the safe. Darius’s hands moved quickly as he removed bundles of cash, credit cards from foreign banks, financial documents, and several family heirlooms that he concealed beneath his clothing. Beatriz did exactly the same, stuffing rings, necklaces, and bracelets into the inner pockets of her coat before filling a suitcase with a few clothes as camouflage. Minutes later, they joined their children at the foot of the staircase, carrying their luggage while trying to preserve a dignity that was already

slipping through their fingers.

The news that the Miller family, who had ruled the pack for years, had been expelled spread through the territory like wildfire.

By the time the doors of the pack house finally opened, a crowd was already waiting outside Men, women, elders, and warriors occupied much of the main road beneath a gray sky heavy with dark clouds.

Everyone watched in silence as the former rulers emerged carrying their luggage. For years, those same people had lowered their heads whenever Darius Miller walked past them.

Now no one stepped aside.

No one bowed their head.

No one showed respect.

The first insults began to rise from the crowd, and shortly afterward came the stones. One struck the ground near Anne’s feet, spraying damp dirt into the air. Another slammed into one of Cassius’s suitcases, drawing a furious curse from him. A third grazed Beatriz’s shoulder.

The shouting immediately intensified.

Accusations, insults, and curses erupted from every direction as years of bottled resentment finally found an outlet.

Some reminded them of the abuses they had suffered. Others shouted Celine’s name. Several simply watched with satisfaction as those who had once ruled with arrogance were driven out like common criminals.
