The Second Chance Of The Rejected Moon (Celine and Bastian) novel Chapter 66

Chapter 66

Bastian tenses for a second, but finally stops fighting himself and takes me by the waist, pulling me even closer against his body. What little clothing remains ends up torn into useless strips of fabric discarded beside the bed.

“Are you sure about this?” His golden eyes shine in the dimness of the room while his large, rough hands gently stop the movement of my hips. “I don’t want you to regret this tomorrow.”

I smile at him, my breathing uneven, and instead of answering, I seek his lips again.

That is my answer.

And he accepts it.

I lick my lips almost instinctively, and I am perfectly capable of seeing the exact moment his golden eyes become clouded. The warm glow that usually defines them disappears beneath something darker, deeper, and wilder. A low growl breaks the silence of the room. Either it’s Bastian… or it’s Zack. Honestly, I’m not sure anymore.

The sound sends a shiver down my spine, and, to my own surprise, a small smile curves my lips. His hands tighten around my waist, his fingers digging lightly into my skin as a deep breath expands his chest. His eyes never leave my face for a single moment. He watches me in silence, but I can see the struggle reflected in them.

The final battle of a man who has spent far too long holding himself back.

His jaw tightens, and the wings of his nose flare slightly as he inhales my scent once more. The movement is almost imperceptible, but it doesn’t escape my notice. Neither does the way his pupils dilate, nor the way his gaze drops to my lips for barely a second before returning to my eyes.

“Goddess…” he murmurs hoarsely, resting his forehead against mine as he closes his eyes for a moment. “Celine, I swear I’m trying to behave.”

A small laugh escapes my lips when I hear the almost desperate sincerity in his voice. But even as he says it, his arms pull me even closer, and I can feel the tremor running through his muscles beneath my hands. As though a part of his wolf had stopped listening to reason a long time ago and was only waiting for the last barrier to disappear.

When he opens his eyes again, the golden glow has regained some of its warmth, but there is no distance left in them. Only desire. Only need. Only that overwhelming intensity with which he has always looked at me and which now seems impossible to contain.

“Then stop trying,” I whisper very close to his ear as my fingers sink into his hair.

Those words seem to ignite something he has been restraining for far too long. One of his hands rises to my neck, and the next second I find myself trapped in the most intense and passionate kiss he has ever given me.

His mouth claims mine with a need that erases everything else. The taste of wine and mint lingers on his lips, blending with my uneven breathing while his fingers tense slightly and his chest rises beneath my hands. I feel surrounded by his desire. by my own, and by instincts that stopped listening to reason a long time ago.

I can no longer think clearly.

Because, from one moment to the next, Astra fights to tear down the barriers I had built after the shower.

“Oh. Goddess…” His deep voice, heavy with emotion, sends a shiver through my entire body.

He rests his forehead against mine and closes his eyes for a moment, as though he still finds it hard to believe this is real.

The Second Chance Of The Rejected Moon

I’ve wanted you for so long, sweetheart… Are you ready?”

The way he says it, with uneven breathing and that mixture of disbelief and need in his golden eyes, makes my heart race

even faster

I need him.

And, for the first time since I found him, I no longer want to keep fighting.

“Find out for yourself.”

The challenge hangs in the air, a silent ultimatum. Bastian doesn’t hesitate. His composure, that carefully built wall of royal restraint, crumbles instantly.

He moves with fluid, predatory grace, dragging me onto the softness of the charcoal-colored sheets. The mattress sinks beneath his weight as he hovers over my body, his eyes dark, the golden iris almost completely swallowed by the wolf’s dilated pupils.

“You asked for it.”

He doesn’t wait for an answer. He kisses me again, but this time there are no gentle questions. It is a deep, possessive kiss flavored with hunger and days of suppressed longing.

I gasp against his mouth, gripping his shoulders and digging my nails into his hard muscles. A jolt runs down his spine. I’m no longer the victim. I’m the architect of this chaos.

Mate. Mine.
