The Second Chance Of The Rejected Moon
Chapter 89
1 take a deep breath before answering.
“And why are you telling me all this, Ayma? If Bastian chose me… why should I be worried?”
She lets out a weary sigh and takes a step back without taking her eyes off mine.
།
To your nee
“Because you’re my friend, Celine. And because you still don’t know these women. You think ignoring them/is enough, but isn’t. Vipers never strike while you’re looking at them… they wait until you turn your back.”
“So what do you suggest?”
A mischievous smile spreads across Aymara’s face. She looks me up and down as though she’d just found the solution to !!/ my problems and, before I have time to react, grabs my hand and practically drags me into the dressing room.
“First you’re going to change your clothes, then I’ll tell you my plan.”
Aymara Victorius is the only person I’d trust to choose my clothes for any occasion. She has impeccable taste… and a personality dominant enough to completely ignore any protest that comes out of my mouth. She quickly moves through the hangers, pushing aside dresses, pants, and shirts until she finally lets out a frustrated sigh.
“Celine, someday you’ll have to accept that black isn’t the only color that looks good on you.”
Without waiting for an answer, she tosses me a pair of leather pants that I catch purely out of luck. Then she places a pair of high heels on a bench and disappears back into the clothes in search of a shirt.
“Now what?” I ask when I see her stop with her hands on her hips and an expression of complete dissatisfaction.
“I have exactly what you need. I’ll be right back. In the meantime, get changed.”
She almost runs out of the dressing room.
I let out a long sigh.
I still don’t understand how changing my clothes is going to solve absolutely anything.
“Fine… but don’t take too long.”
I take off the comfortable clothes I’d just put on and slide the leather pants up my legs. They fit my body perfectly without feeling uncomfortable. Then I put on the high heels, but after taking only a couple of steps, I realize there’s no way I’m wearing them all night.
My eyes settle on a pair of black leather over-the-knee boots resting beside the wardrobe.
I’d noticed them the moment I walked in.
I smile.
Much better.
I take the pants back off and replace them with a short black leather skirt that hugs my hips, made from the same leather as the boots. I look at my reflection in the mirror again. The leather matches perfectly, and besides being much more comfortable, it gives the whole outfit a personality those high heels never could.
Just then. Aymara returns wearing a huge smile. She studies me from head to toe with a critical eye before finally nodding in
satisfaction.

“You’re learning, Celine. I like it. Those boots have a lot more character than those stupid shoes.. and that skirt. A mischievous smile curves her lips. “I think Bastian’s going to lose what little sanity he has left.
She places a small black garment in my hands.
I examine it carefully and frown.
“Put it on.”
I hold it up between two fingers.
“Ayma… this looks more like lingerie than a top.”
“Downstairs there’s a she-wolf drooling over your man. Make sure that, when you walk into that dining room, he’s incapable of looking at another woman.”
Before I can answer, her hands grab the hem of my athletic shirt and pull it off in one swift motion.
“Hey!”
“Out with that. Put on this top and this lace bra.”
She tosses both garments at me before settling down in front of the vanity. She opens a small makeup case and begins sorting through the brushes like an artist about to begin a masterpiece.
“Can I know why I have to dress like this for a simple dinner?”
Aymara looks up at me through the mirror and gives me a smile that inspires absolutely no confidence.
“What dinner are you talking about, Celine? Tonight is your bachelorette party.”
I blink.
Once.
Twice.
Three times.
“My… what?”
“Your bachelorette party. The court wanted to organize the most boring ladies’ evening imaginable, so I decided to steal the idea before those vipers could. You’re going to spend the night with the women who are actually on your side… and when it’s over, I want your man to watch you walk into that room and lose his mind the way the Goddess intended.”
Damn.
Knowing Aymara…
I’d just realized that tonight’s real chaos hadn’t even begun yet.
“You mean we’re not having dinner with the family?”
Ayma nods as I finish putting on the clothes she’s practically forcing me to wear.
“We are. We’ll have dinner with them, and when it’s over, you’ll inform your man that you’re going out with me tonight for a few drinks. You won’t give him any explanations, and before we leave, you’ll throw every lady of the court who’s arriving out of the castle.”

The idea doesn’t sound so bad.
i shrug slightly and sit down in front of the vanity so my friend can work her magic.
She doesn’t use soft colors.
Quite the opposite.
