Chapter 94
Nadia rose to her feet as well. She slowly walked around the marble island and approached Bastian with a barely visible smile. Her hands rested naturally on the prince’s strong arms, just as they had so many times over the years, convinced that the gesture still belonged to an old habit between them.
“A house? I left days ago after arguing with my father, Bas. I don’t want to go back.”
Bastian held her gaze for only a moment. Then he took a step back and, with complete ease, gently removed Nadia’s hands from his arms, creating a distance he had never before needed to impose.
Then stay at a hotel or go to your brother’s house. You can’t stay here anymore. Celine won’t like another woman remaining in our castle.”
For a second, Nadia stood completely still. The expression on her face tightened just enough to betray the frustration she tried to hide. A moment later, her eyes began to glisten, and tears appeared with almost rehearsed ease.
“If you don’t get upstairs right now, I’ll throw that bitch out of the castle myself.”
Zack’s voice echoed with a growl inside Bastian’s head.
“Lose her.”
The prince closed his eyes for a brief moment.
“I’ve already wasted too much time. Celine is probably upset.”
“But… I still have nightmares…”
“It’s not negotiable.” Bastian’s voice remained calm but firm. “I’m a mated man now. It wouldn’t be appropriate for you to remain here.”
Just then, a guard walked down the hallway.
“You.” Bastian motioned him over with a wave of his hand. “Escort Captain Robinson wherever she wishes to go.”
Nadia clenched her teeth for only a second before forcing another smile.
She had no choice but to accept.
Bastian bid her farewell with a nod and left the kitchen at nearly a brisk pace. He took the stairs two at a time until he reached the corridor leading to his chambers.
Something wasn’t right. The lights remained off, and the guards who normally stood watch outside the door were gone. An unpleasant feeling settled heavily in his chest. He shoved both wooden doors open harder than necessary, and darkness greeted him in complete silence. His gaze swept across the room until it stopped at the bed.
The blankets were untouched.
Empty.
Celine wasn’t there.
“You made her angry…” Zack murmured with obvious satisfaction. “And now your mate isn’t here.”
Nearly transformed into his beast, Bastian rushed through the entire castle searching for his mate, convinced he would find her training, as she had so many times before, in the combat hall. Yet he hadn’t seen his father, his grandfather, or even Celine’s inseparable friends walking through the corridors. The entire castle felt strangely empty.

He shoved open the doors to the training hall with such force that they slammed against the wall
Darkness.
No one inside.
Only moonlight filtering through the single high window.

The uneasiness finally settled deep in his chest. He closed his eyes, took a deep breath, and reached for Celine through the bond they had shared since their mating.
“My love… where are you? I couldn’t find you in our chambers.”
For a brief instant, he felt her presence.
She was safe.
She wasn’t in danger.
Relief barely lasted a second before crashing into an invisible wall.
Celine had blocked their bond.
“She blocked us. Perfect. You’re completely useless.”
Zack kept growling insults inside his head, but Bastian barely paid him any attention. He hurried back downstairs, searching for the guards he himself had assigned to protect her.
They were gone as well.
Bastian clenched his teeth and reached out to his best friend through the mental bond they had shared since childhood.
“Where is Celine, Alaric?”
The future Royal Beta frowned slightly. He knew exactly where she was. He also knew that the moment Bastian found out, he would lose what little composure he still had.
“Don’t you know where your own mate is?” he replied with obvious annoyance.
Bastian tightened his jaw.
“If I knew, I wouldn’t be asking you.”
Without waiting for another answer, he rushed back upstairs.
“Ask your grandfather. Maybe she’s with him.”
Alaric was right.
Alaric felt the connection abruptly cut off. He wasn’t lying… he simply needed to buy a few more minutes to reach the club and get those two she-wolves out of there before the prince showed up as a killing machine.
Bastian kicked open the door to Silas’s room.
It was empty too.
The only things he found were the unmistakable scent of his grandfather’s cologne and several pieces of clothing scattered
across the bed.
