Chapter 93

The massive doors of the Moon Eclipse club opened immediately for the two women, who didn’t even bother glancing at the long line of wolves waiting behind the security cordon. The complaints and murmurs of discontent were left behind the moment they crossed the entrance.
Silas Thorn walked between them with complete calm, one hand resting on Celine’s back and the other on Aymara’s Halfway through the lobby, he released only a fraction of his alpha aura.
He didn’t need more. The effect was immediate.
The wolves occupying the reception area instinctively stepped back several paces. Conversations died away, the music seemed to vanish for a brief moment, and dozens of eyes fixed on the man who had just entered the club as though the place belonged to him as well.
Alaric had moved half the kingdom to organize that night out. He had made calls, collected favors, and incurred more than one debt to guarantee that his sister and Celine could enjoy the evening without being disturbed. Thanks to that, the owner of Moon Eclipse, a young wolf barely over a century old, personally approached to welcome them with a broad smile.
“It is an honor to have you here, Your Highness.”
Silas responded with a slight nod before continuing to walk.
The young wolf led them to the second floor, where an entire section had been reserved exclusively for them. From there, they could overlook the entire dance floor without having to mingle with the crowd.
Throughout the walk, Silas didn’t spare a single glance for the she-wolves who were practically devouring him with their eyes. He heard every whisper, every comment filled with admiration, and every shamelessly suggestive proposition that slipped through the music, yet he didn’t even turn his head. He merely smiled faintly out of the corner of his mouth while continuing to escort the two young women.
One was his granddaughter.
The other was the granddaughter of his late best friend.
And to Silas Thorn, that was enough to consider both of them under his protection.
The Thorns and the Victoriuses had spent centuries sharing battles, loyalty, and a friendship that had survived even the deaths of some of their members. That night was no different.
Celine slowly approached the second-floor railing and rested both hands on the polished wood. From there, she watched the spectacle unfolding beneath her feet. Blue, violet, and red lights swept across the enormous dance floor while the music made the floor vibrate beneath her boots. Dozens of wolves danced, laughed, raised their glasses, and moved with a freedom she had never witnessed before. In the darker corners, some couples spoke in low voices; others simply enjoyed the anonymity offered by the dim light.
Everything was new.
Everything was different.
And, for the first time in a very long time, Celine smiled without thinking about crowns, Noble Ladies, protocols, or responsibilities.
She was simply living a night she had never believed she would get to experience.
While Bastian and Nadia had dinner at the large marble kitchen island and emptied their second glass of wine, memories began to fill the conversation. Old military campaigns, youthful jokes, training sessions that had ended in fights, and the occasional battle where both had ended up covered in someone else’s blood. Nadia smiled, asked questions, and linked one

topic to another with almost perfect skill. Every time she noticed Bastian glancing toward the door with the intention of excusing himself to return to his mate, she found another memory she knew would hold his attention for a few more
minutes.
Deep down, she smiled with satisfaction. She had accomplished exactly what she wanted.
Hours earlier, she had hugged the prince with exaggerated enthusiasm for one reason alone.
She wanted to see the reaction of Bastian’s fated mate, and she had watched it with satisfaction.
A beautiful young woman, yes… but without the upbringing of a noble, raised as nothing more than a servant and despised by the very family that should have protected her. A she-wolf who, until only a few weeks earlier, had been scrubbing floors beneath the whip of a small pack.
Nadia still remembered the anger she had felt when she received Arlet Black’s telegram announcing that the prince had found his fated mate.
More than a hundred years. That was what Nadia had invested in remaining by Bastian’s side. She had fought beside him, bled beside him, shared countless military campaigns, and learned to anticipate nearly every one of his decisions. She had also tried, on more than one occasion, to become something more than just a fellow warrior, always using the same excuse the nightmares.
A supposedly violent fated mate who had left her scarred for life and forced her to wake up terrified during nights on campaign. Moved by compassion, Bastian always offered her a blanket, a campfire, or simply his company until she fell asleep again.
Never anything more.
Even though the long military campaigns and loneliness would have made almost any other man cross that line, Bastian never did. The following morning, he pretended nothing had happened, and they continued training as though that night had never existed.
Now everything was different.
The man she had always wanted for herself now had a mate.
And Nadia had made sure he didn’t even find the opportunity to introduce them properly. She led him straight to the training grounds, where the rest of his elite squad was waiting with the perfect excuse to spend time sparring, laughing, and reminiscing about old stories.
The sound of steel clashing during training, the growls of wolves throwing each other to the ground, and the laughter that erupted after every fall eventually wrapped the prince in a routine he knew by heart. For hours, they became the same warriors they had always been, men and women who had shared countless campaigns, blood, and victories beneath the same banner.
The hours passed far too quickly. When Bastian looked up at the sky through the castle’s tall windows again, night had already completely fallen over the kingdom.
At last, he set his crystal glass down on the cold marble countertop and rose to his feet.
“I’m truly sorry your father wants to force you to marry a man you don’t love. I’ll do everything in my power to help you… but now I must return to my mate.”
