Chapter 138
Bella
The sound of the phone ringing felt loud in the quiet room. I pulled back slightly and looked at the screen. It was an unknown number ‘0000000.
Strange.
For a second, I hesitated. “I’ve never seen a number like this,” I muttered.
Even Scott appeared tense as his brows drew together. He took the phone from me, tilted his head, and said, “Take it, and put it on speaker.”
I wiped my cheeks quickly, and took the call. “Hello?” I put it on speaker.
“Bella,” a familiar voice said on the other end.
My eyes widened. “Nancy?”
“Yes,” Nancy replied calmly.
“What is this number?” I asked, amused.
She chuckled. “Privacy,” she said simply.
I swallowed, suddenly alert. “Is everything okay?”
Nancy didn’t waste time. “You should meet Lucy,” she said urgently. “That woman has many secrets, Bella. Things you should listen to before you decide what to do next. Both she and Rowan had done way too many things.”
My heart began beating faster. “I’ve always wanted to meet her,” I said immediately, because curiosity and anger both rose at once. “I have so many questions. I even tried contacting you, but you never picked up your phone.”
“I’m sorry, Bella. But I don’t carry my phone with me. It’s like why would witches need it?” She laughed softly. Then she said, “But you must come to my kingdom to meet Lucy.”
Scott’s body tensed beside me. His voice turned cautious. “I don’t want Bella going to the witch kingdom,” he said firmly into the phone. “I don’t trust your witches.”
I could picture Nancy smiling on the other side. She said, “Nothing will happen to her under my watch. She will be safe.”
“Please Scott,” I urged him. “I really want to talk to that woman!”
Scott didn’t soften. He took a deep breath in. “Then I will come with her.”
There was a short pause, and then Nancy said, “That’s fine. I’m happy to host both of you.”
Scott’s jaw stayed tight, but he looked relieved that Nancy didn’t argue.
Nancy continued, “Wait until the break of dawn tomorrow. Two witches will come in the dark to take you to the kingdom. Be ready.”
The call ended, and I stood there for a moment, my mind already racing ahead. I wanted answers. I wanted to look Lucy in
eye and hear the truth from her own mouth.

Scott looked at me carefully. “You’re sure about this?”

“Yes,” I replied quietly “I need to know what she did and why
The next morning. I woke up early, I couldn’t eat much because my nerves were too active, but I forced myself to drink some warm milk. Scott stayed close, watchful as ever. He had already asked his wolves to secure the villa, and when the two witches arrived, everything happened quickly.
They were women dressed in long coats. Their eyes scanned the roof, and then one of them nodded slightly as if confirming something in her mind.
“This way,” she said.
We followed them to the corner of the roof, where the flowers were still wet with morning dew. One witch lifted her hands and began murmuring words I didn’t understand. The sound wasn’t loud, but it carried weight, like it was pressing against the air itself.
A soft glow appeared in front of us. At first it looked like a thin curtain of light, but then it widened and grew taller, formning a doorway that didn’t belong in any normal space. Scott’s hand immediately found mine in a firm grip.
“What’s this?” I asked, amused and amazed.
“It’s the portal to our kingdom,” said one of the witches.
Whoa!
“You stay close,” Scott said quietly, not trusting the witches.
“I will,” I replied, though my heart was racing.
When we stepped forward and entered the portal, the sensation was unlike anything I had experienced. It felt like walking through thick water without being wet. My ears rang slightly, and my stomach flipped, as if my body was being pulled gently in a direction it didn’t understand. For a few seconds, everything around me blurred, and I could only feel Scott’s hand anchoring me.
Then the pressure lifted. We stepped out, and the world changed. We were in the witch kingdom.
I stood still, stunned, because it didn’t look like a dark place or a frightening place the way I had imagined. It was beautiful. The sky was a softer shade than the human world. It was pale and glowing, like an early morning that never fully became noon. The air smelled clean, with hints of herbs and flowers.
The street we stood on was made of smooth stone, and the buildings around us looked old and elegant, with carved details along the walls and roofs. Some of the windows had faint lights glowing behind them, even though it was daytime. People walked calmly, dressed in a mix of modern clothes and older styles, as if time moved differently here.
I noticed small things that made my breath catch. Lanterns floating without chains. Plants curling around pillars as if they were alive and aware. A fountain where the water moved in gentle patterns, almost like it was being guided by invisible hands.
Scott’s posture was guarded, his eyes scanning everything. I could feel his Lycan pressing against his skin.
As for me–I couldn’t stop staring. I felt mesmerized. I also felt small, like I had stepped into a place where the rules I understood didn’t apply.
The witches led us down the street, and after a short walk, we reached a palace.
It was large, bright, and beautiful, with tall gates and stone steps leading up to an entrance framed by climbing vines. The structure looked ancient and elegant. It looked cared for, powerful, and alive.
Nancy stood at the steps of the main hall as if she had been waiting for us. The moment she saw me, she grinned. She hurried to me and hugged me tightly. “You came,” she said, and her voice carried love.

had to.” I replied, hugging her back.
She pulled back after a moment and cupped my face. “You’ve been through a lot, Bella. It’s time you live freely, and know everything.”
Her words sounded mysterious. I tightened my hold on Scott’s hand and took a slow breath, knowing that whatever I was about to hear would change everything. “I can’t wait to meet Lucy.”
